Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The person working as breaker plant maintenance technician shall perform assigned duties on a daily basis, including, but not limited to preventive maintenance checks and services, documenting all actions as required. Must work from a prioritized list and perform all duties in a timely manner. Must remain flexible, being prepared to deal with occasional changes in responsibility, as well as schedule.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Responsible for performing preventive checks and services in assigned areas.
  • Responsible for all documentation required by Operating Procedures.
  • Familiarize and insure compliance and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices Handbook (GMP) policies.
  • Responsible for complying with all Rose Acre Farms policies and procedures.
  • Inform (within a reasonable period) the Maintenance Manager, Breaking Plant Manager or Complex Manager of any urgent or emergency situations that require immediate attention or approval.
  • Perform any other duties deemed necessary or vital to Rose Acre Farms operations or interests.
  • Insure housekeeping duties are routinely completed.
  • Be familiar with and conform to all Rose Acre Farms' Biosecurity Program policies.
  • Must be able to lift 65 lbs. Must be able to reach area only accessible by ladder. Must be able to climb to and work on equipment in hard-to-reach areas.
  • Must be able to learn new areas of responsibility.
  • Must often work without supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent desired.
  • Must be experienced in trouble shooting equipment and making mechanical repairs. (i.e., troubleshooting, maintenance and repair, and familiarizing themselves with operation manuals).
  • Capable of performing routine math calculations.
  • Must be able to follow detailed instruction, work without supervision, and be able to learn new skills and responsibilities.
  • Good communication skills (i.e. written and verbal).
  • Be available to work flexible hours - including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to quickly address critical and urgent situations.
  • Possess good decision-making skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Must possess the ability to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas each varying in temperature, and other environment specific atmospheres.
  • Must be willing and able to work past the scheduled leave time to complete the job, if needed.
  • Must possess the ability to work in an open office setting.
  • Must maintain professionalism with coworkers.
