POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Assistant Maintenance Manager to join our team. In this role, support the Maintenance Manager in overseeing maintenance operations, ensuring that all equipment and facilities are functioning efficiently. Will be responsible for managing a team of maintenance personnel, coordinating projects, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality within the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Delegate Maintenance Technician's work list and assure it is completed in a safe and timely manner.
  • Schedule groundskeeping as needed including mowing, trimming, spraying, snowplowing, and general site upkeep.
  • Oversee maintenance on most plant processing equipment including routine and preventative maintenance.
  • Schedule and order supplies as needed for new equipment installs and oversee site during installs.
  • Making sure all exterior and interior repairs are scheduled or completed as needed
  • Ensure all plant processes are operating mechanically to plant standards and expectations
  • Assist in planning of new equipment installs
  • Conduct bi-weekly safety meetings with maintenance personnel on various topics and document meetings with signatures from all attendees.
  • Perform any disciplinary action of maintenance employees as needed, along with scheduling and approving vacations and all other personnel issues.
  • Must pass all tests and verifications for: LOTO, pallet jack, forklift, scissor lift, Ammonia system, confined spaces, and electrical safety (Arc flash)
  • Must possess a “hands on” approach with maintenance staff

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong management skills with a focus on leadership and team development.
  • Proficient in programmable logic controllers (PLC) and industrial automation systems.
  • Solid understanding of facilities management principles and practices.
  • Mechanical knowledge with experience in electrical systems, including high voltage applications.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies to effectively oversee maintenance initiatives.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments, with a strong emphasis on safety protocols.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of using tools such as ohmmeters for electrical diagnostics.
  • Previous supervising experience is preferred, demonstrating the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCES:

  • Three to seven years related experience.
  • Basic Knowledge of computers
  • Industrial Maintenance and Electrical Degree preferred.
