Who You Are
As a Robotic Field Service Engineer, you'll be the person customers count on when their robotic systems need troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance, or optimization.
We're looking for curious, motivated problem-solvers who enjoy technology and don't mind being on the move. The ideal candidate will be located near Spartanburg, SC and is energized by travel, enjoys working independently, and thrives in customer-facing environments where every day brings a new challenge.
How It's Done
  • Diagnose and repair FANUC robots and automation systems
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control system issues
  • Support robot startups, maintenance activities, and production recovery efforts
  • Work directly with customers to solve technical challenges
  • Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation
  • Perform onsite service, repairs, and preventative maintenance
  • Troubleshoot PLC and automation-related issues
  • Document service activities and recommendations
  • Provide remote technical support when needed
  • Travel 80% or more throughout the Southeast region supporting customer facilities with 2-3 overnights per week
  • Rotating weekend coverage averaging 2 weekends per month

What You Need
  • High school diploma/GED with relevant technical experience OR an Associate Degree in a technical field
  • Experience or education in: Robotics, Automation, Manufacturing Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance or related experience
  • Mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic troubleshooting experience
  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and documentation
  • Basic understanding of PLCs and industrial controls
  • Strong troubleshooting mindset
  • Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle and ability to legally rent a vehicle
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

FANUC American is seeking a qualified applicant for an Field Service Engineer role. The pay range for this position is $64,740 - $104,924 per year. The pay range listed is based on both salary and other compensation, including bonuses and profit sharing, that an employee may be paid during their employment with FANUC America.
