Job description

Job Purpose
Design, develop, and support plant automation and control systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations while driving continuous improvement in quality, productivity, and equipment performance.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead cross functional team (maintenance, process engineering, operations, etc) on automation and controls-related projects.
• Program Rockwell PLC's, Fanuc robots and related equipment to support new launches and process improvements.
• Support operations and maintenance through troubleshooting and assist in assembly line / manufacturing cell recovery.
• Implement quality improvement projects through error proofing, interlocks and vision system (Cognex and Fanuc IR Vision) integration.
• Lead machine guarding initiatives and safety improvements.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
• Follows company policies, standards and specifications
Education and Qualifications
Required Education and/or Experience:
1. Bachelors of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree with a minimum of 7 years of manufacturing experience.
2. Strong understanding of machine tending production processes.
3. PLC troubleshooting knowledge (Rockwell), Fanuc and ABB robot programming knowledge.
4. Must be a self-starter and possess initiative and able to work with limited supervision.
5. Must possess strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
6. Continue professional growth and knowledge through ongoing training and education.
7. Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with people.
8. Good reasoning ability is required to solve a wide range of business problems in dealing with complex machines and process problems. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
9. Should have excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and deal with stressful situations.
10. Contributes to building a positive team spirit and displays a great attitude.
11. Be available to work off shifts & weekends when needed to complete projects and support the assembly process.
12. Process - improvement oriented.
