Job Description

Love your job and feel full filled as an In-Home Care Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse.  We are looking for compassionate PRN nurses in South Austin with a passion for service, family values, and a true desire to help the elderly. Nurses with Heavenly Care enjoy flexible schedule options, an enjoyable work environment that is warm, positive, and supportive. We have nursing opportunities throughout the South Austin and Hill Country area.

Current Hiring Emphasis: RN/LVN's available to work visits in SOUTH AUSTIN OR RN/LVN's open to working short, 1 hour visits in the Hill Country.

Responsibilities

• Travel to assigned patient's homes and manage their care plan according to physician's instructions. 
• Provide transportation to client's in your vehicle when necessary
• Assess and chart observations of the patient's condition at each visit.
• Complete evaluation tasks, including reviewing medication and vital signs.
• Dress or redress wounds and assess the healing progress.
• Educating caregivers and family on the aftercare or ongoing care of the patient.
• Keep the patient comfortable through palliative care.
• Recommend tools or devices that may improve the quality of life for the patient.
• Insulin or medication management

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport, establish trust with patients, and deliver high-quality care that supports patient comfort and a positive care experience. .
• Able to take the initiative to make independent decisions when required and accept direction and requests from patients.
• The ability to follow instructions but also act independently if necessary.
• Excellent observational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to act swiftly in emergencies and work efficiently.
• Flexibility and patience to work in a variety of living environments.
• Knowledge of clinical skills including changing bandages, giving tube feedings, administering shots, and setting up and monitoring IVs
• Insulin management

Requirement and Qualifications

• Available to work visits in South Austin.
• Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience working in the home care industry (or related industry - hospice, home health, hospital, etc.)
• Current nursing license and CPR/BLS certification
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• 1 hour visit rate: $65+ per visit
• RN pay rate: $45/hr
• LVN pay rate: $40/hr
