Remote Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) | Montana

Job Summary

We are seeking a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to provide remote therapy services to clients across Montana. This role focuses on helping individuals, couples, and families address relationship concerns, family conflict, communication challenges, emotional stress, anxiety, depression, grief, and major life transitions.

The LMFT will provide structured telehealth sessions, complete clinical assessments, develop treatment plans, document progress, and support clients in building healthier patterns within their personal and family relationships. This position is well-suited for a therapist who values professional autonomy, strong clinical standards, and consistent client care in a remote setting.

Position Details

Location: Montana
Work Setting: Remote / Telehealth
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $115,000-$120,000 per year with full benefits
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, couples, and family therapy through a secure telehealth platform
  • Complete intake assessments and evaluate client needs, symptoms, history, and treatment goals
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical presentation and relational concerns
  • Support clients with communication issues, family stress, conflict resolution, parenting concerns, anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions
  • Use appropriate clinical approaches for marriage and family therapy in a virtual care setting
  • Monitor client progress and update treatment plans as needed
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, session notes, and required documentation
  • Follow HIPAA standards, ethical guidelines, and Montana licensing requirements
  • Identify when referrals, safety planning, or a higher level of care may be appropriate
  • Participate in case-related communication or consultation when needed

Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Psychology, or a related clinical field
  • Active Montana LMFT license in good standing
  • Experience providing therapy to individuals, couples, and/or families
  • Strong knowledge of family systems, relationship dynamics, assessment, and treatment planning
  • Comfortable providing services through telehealth platforms
  • Ability to maintain professional documentation and manage a full-time caseload
  • Reliable internet connection and private workspace for confidential sessions
  • Experience with electronic health records preferred
