Job description

The Family Therapy Contractor provides specialized family and couples therapy within a new outpatient program. This role is responsible for assessing family dynamics, delivering evidence-based interventions, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support improved functioning and mental health outcomes. This position requires in-person services for approximately four hours per week on Silver Hill's campus in New Canaan, CT.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide family and couples therapy to outpatient clients
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of family systems, dynamics, and treatment needs
  • Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
  • Facilitate improved communication, conflict resolution, and relational functioning within family systems
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, individual therapists, and program staff to ensure coordinated and integrated care
  • Participate in case consultations and interdisciplinary team meetings as needed
  • Communicate effectively with referral sources and family members, as appropriate
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation
  • Performs other duties as required

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong clinical expertise in family systems and evidence-based modalities
  • Ability to manage complex family dynamics and psychiatric presentations
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and clinical judgment in emotionally charged situations

Education and Experience:

  • Active licensure as a Family Therapist (e.g., LMFT) in the state of Connecticut, required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of post-licensure experience providing family and/or couples therapy
  • Experience working with complex psychiatric populations preferred
  • Experience in a hospital or outpatient setting preferred

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be available to provide in-person services on Silver Hill's campus in New Canaan, CT
  • Must maintain current licensure and professional liability insurance
