The Director of Racquet Sports is responsible for leading all aspects of the Club's racquet sports operation, delivering an exceptional tennis and pickleball experience for members and guests of all ages and skill levels. This includes overseeing programming, instruction, tournaments, leagues, retail operations, staff leadership, budgeting, member engagement, and facility operations. The Director will play a key role in continuing to grow one of the Club's most vibrant amenities while fostering an inclusive, family-oriented environment that reflects our culture.

This is a full-time, exempt position reporting directly to the Assistant General Manager and supervising the Racquet Sports Professional team and Racquet Sports Shop Staff.

Qualifications to Join Our Team:

โ€ข Minimum five (5) years of experience as a Head Tennis Professional or Director of Racquet Sports, preferably within a private country club environment.
โ€ข Bachelor's degree required.
โ€ข Current RSPA (formerly USPTA) or PTR Tennis Professional Certification required.
โ€ข Pickleball professional certification strongly preferred (or willingness to obtain).
โ€ข Active USTA membership required.
โ€ข Strong knowledge of both tennis and pickleball programming, instruction, leagues, tournaments, and member engagement.
โ€ข Demonstrated success leading teams and developing staff.
โ€ข Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
โ€ข Passion for creating memorable member experiences.
โ€ข Budget management and retail operations experience preferred.
โ€ข Computer proficiency, including club management software.
โ€ข Ability to work outdoors in Arizona's varying weather conditions.
โ€ข 4.5โ€“5.0 USTA playing level preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

โ€ข Lead all daily tennis and pickleball operations while ensuring exceptional member and guest experiences.
โ€ข Develop innovative programming including clinics, leagues, tournaments, socials, camps, and junior programming for players of all ages and skill levels.
โ€ข Continue expanding and enhancing the Club's pickleball programming and overall racquet sports offerings.
โ€ข Create a welcoming, engaging environment that encourages member participation and builds community.
โ€ข Recruit, hire, develop, mentor, and evaluate a high-performing team of racquet sports professionals and shop staff.
โ€ข Teach private and group lessons as needed while maintaining a visible and active presence around the facility.
โ€ข Oversee court scheduling, reservations, league play, and event calendars.
โ€ข Coordinate food and beverage, staffing, and logistics for racquet sports events and tournaments.
โ€ข Develop and maintain annual operating budgets while monitoring revenues and expenses.
โ€ข Partner with Club leadership on future facility improvements and capital projects.
โ€ข Work closely with the merchandising team to maximize retail sales, inventory management, and member service.
โ€ข Oversee racquet stringing, repair services, and equipment maintenance.
โ€ข Maintain high standards of facility appearance, cleanliness, and safety.
โ€ข Create regular communications promoting programs, events, and member engagement.
โ€ข Partner with the Marketing & Communications team to promote racquet sports through newsletters, social media, and the Club website.
โ€ข Support membership recruitment by showcasing the Club's racquet sports amenities to prospective members.
โ€ข Foster an environment where team members are passionate about hospitality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
โ€ข Attend management meetings and collaborate with other departments to deliver exceptional Club experiences.
