  • Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
  • A valid license as a clinical social worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences OR immediate registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker upon date of hire.
  • One of the following California credentials authorizing K-12 service must be in force and on file in the Office of the Los Angeles County Superintendent of Schools: or hold a valid Services Credential with specialization in health designating social work service
  • Hold a valid Pupil Personnel Services Credential California Pupil Personnel Services Credential authorizing service in social work
  • A valid Services Credential with specialization in health designating social work service
  • Official Transcripts, includingMaster of Social Work degree

  • Must be a maximum of two pages; it must describe your experience and training by covering all of the following four areas:
  • Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach to address barriers to learning and to restore and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment for students and parents
  • Utilizing evidenced and/or evidenced informed practices or specialized training
  • Guiding and informing students, parents, and school staff on psychoeducation and available resources
  • Responding to crisis, critical incidents, and emergency situations
  • Provide contact information for professional references, including current or most recent school-based or child-centered employment
SELECTION PROCESS AFTER INTERVIEW
  • Applicants may be contacted by Human Resources with requests for outstanding documents or information.
  • Applicants who are deemed ELIGIBLE by Human Resources will be placed on the appropriate eligibility list for a period of one calendar year.

  • Job Description-Inclusive of the class code 0569 outline, the BSAP PSW description also includes the following description: The Black Student Achievement Plan (BSAP) Psychiatric Social Worker (PSW) will serve as the mental health professional at selected school sites to promote mental wellness, academic success and address barriers to learning for students participating in BSAP. The BSAP PSW will provide targeted supports that promote critical wellness for youth, cultivate resilience in students and families participating in BSAP, and address the impact of trauma and toxic stress in communities.
  • Application Process-In addition to the general PSW application process, the BSAP PSW application process requires a 2nd interview which addresses culturally responsive intervention and strategies.
