A global family office is seeking an experienced Family Office Director to serve as a trusted partner to the Principals and oversee the coordination, administration, and execution of the family's diverse personal and business activities.

The family office manages a complex portfolio of interests, including multiple domestic and international residences, a private yacht, vineyard operations, real estate investments, and other private business activities. Supported by a global network of employees, household staff, advisors, consultants, and service providers, the office requires a highly capable leader who can bring structure, accountability, and seamless execution across a sophisticated and evolving environment.

This role represents a unique opportunity to serve at the center of a global family office, acting as the operational leader. The successful candidate will oversee key family office functions, coordinate across advisors and staff, drive special projects, and ensure alignment between the Principals' long-term objectives, shared priorities, and day-to-day operations.

Position Overview

The Family Office Director will serve as a trusted partner to both Principals and act as the central integrator across all family office activities. This individual will maintain visibility across the family's financial affairs, estate operations, lifestyle assets, and strategic initiatives while ensuring disciplined execution across a broad range of priorities.

Acting as the air traffic controller for the family office, the Director will coordinate communication, prioritization, and decision-making on behalf of the Principals among internal staff, external advisors, household teams, property managers, yacht crew, vineyard leadership, and professional service providers. The role requires an individual who can seamlessly move between strategic planning and handsโ€‘on execution, balancing longโ€‘term objectives with immediate operational needs.

The ideal candidate combines family office expertise, financial acumen, operational leadership, project management capabilities, and exceptional relationshipโ€‘management skills. This individual will be equally comfortable reviewing financial reports, leading organizational initiatives, coordinating advisors, and overseeing estate operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesFamily Office Leadership
  • Serve as the senior operational leader and central coordinator across all family office activities
  • Translate the Principalsโ€™ objectives into actionable plans with clear ownership, timelines, and accountability
  • Maintain visibility across all major initiatives, ensuring alignment between priorities, resources, and execution
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities across the family's personal and business interests
  • Lead special projects and strategic initiatives on behalf of the Principals and family office
  • Develop and implement processes, controls, and operating procedures that support a scalable, wellโ€‘organized family office infrastructure
Advisor Coordination & Governance
  • Serve as the central integrator across the family's advisory ecosystem, including attorneys, accountants, tax advisors, trustees, investment managers, insurance professionals, banking partners, and consultants
  • Ensure advisors are aligned, informed, and working collaboratively toward shared objectives
  • Identify gaps, redundancies, and opportunities for improved coordination among providers
  • Coordinate meetings, reporting cycles, and decisionโ€‘making processes involving family members and advisors
  • Support governance activities, including board meetings, family meetings, and trustee communications
  • Prepare briefing materials, meeting agendas, summaries, and followโ€‘up action plans
  • Establish and maintain structured communication, reporting, and decisionโ€‘making processes across staff
Financial Oversight & Administration
  • Oversee financial administration across the family's entities, residences, lifestyle assets, and philanthropic activities
  • Review and synthesize financial statements, cash flow reports, budgets, and other reporting prepared by internal staff and external providers
  • Monitor liquidity needs, major expenditures, and capital projects across the family's activities
  • Oversee bill payment processes, approvals, financial controls, and reporting systems
  • Partner with accountants, tax advisors, and investment professionals to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Assist the Principals in understanding key financial information, trends, and decision points
  • Support annual budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and longโ€‘term financial planning efforts, along with outside accountants and tax advisors
  • Ensure financial reporting across advisors and providers is aligned, accurate, and clearly understood
Estate, Lifestyle Asset & Operational Oversight
  • Provide oversight across multiple residences, ensuring consistent operational excellence, maintenance, staffing, and service standards
  • Coordinate with household staff, estate managers, property managers, yacht crew, and other service providers to ensure seamless operations
  • Maintain visibility across major property maintenance, renovation, construction, and capital improvement projects
  • Oversee annual operating budgets and major expenditures associated with residences and lifestyle assets
  • Ensure operational consistency and communication across all properties and locations
  • Support oversight of vineyard operations and other operating assets, serving as a liaison between management teams and the Principals
  • Review operational performance, staffing needs, and service delivery across properties and lifestyle assets
  • Ensure a hospitalityโ€‘driven, whiteโ€‘glove standard of service is maintained across all environments
Team Leadership & Organizational Management
  • Serve as the primary coordinator across employees, household staff, contractors, and advisors supporting the family
  • Provide oversight and direction to administrative and operational personnel, including the Executive Assistant and other family office staff
  • Establish clear communication channels, accountability structures, and operating rhythms across the organization
  • Facilitate communication, coordination, and alignment across the Principals' personal, family, philanthropic, and business activities, ensuring priorities are appropriately balanced and executed
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and organizational development efforts as needed
  • Foster a collaborative, serviceโ€‘oriented, and highโ€‘performance culture
  • Ensure team members understand priorities, responsibilities, and expectations
  • Evaluate organizational needs and recommend resources, staffing, and structural improvements
Project Management & Infrastructure
  • Lead crossโ€‘functional projects involving residences, operating businesses, governance, technology, and family initiatives
  • Implement systems and processes that improve organization, reporting, visibility, and efficiency
  • Develop and maintain secure document management, recordkeeping, and informationโ€‘sharing practices
  • Track project milestones, deliverables, and accountability across multiple stakeholders
  • Continuously evaluate opportunities to improve family office infrastructure and operations
  • Anticipate challenges and proactively develop solutions to support the family's evolving needs and priorities
Qualifications & Profile
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA, CPA, CFA, or other relevant advanced credentials preferred
  • 15+ years of experience within a family office, private office, wealth management firm, professional services firm, or comparable environment supporting ultraโ€‘highโ€‘netโ€‘worth individuals and families
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to review, interpret, and synthesize complex financial information across multiple entities, countries and advisors
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating across sophisticated advisory networks, including legal, tax, investment, fiduciary, and insurance professionals
  • Experience overseeing multiple residences, lifestyle assets, household operations, estate management functions, or hospitalityโ€‘focused environments
  • Experience supporting ultraโ€‘highโ€‘netโ€‘worth principals with complex global lifestyles, multiple residences, aviation and/or maritime assets, hospitalityโ€‘focused operations, or operating businesses preferred
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects and drive execution across diverse stakeholders
  • Experience managing teams, vendors, consultants, and service providers in a highโ€‘touch environment
