How much do faller jobs pay per hour?

As of Jul 16, 2026, the average hourly pay for faller in the United States is $31.06, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $24.28 and $36.06 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is the highest paid job in forestry?

In forestry, the highest paid roles are often forest managers, chief foresters, or specialized consultants, with salaries increasing based on experience, certifications, and management responsibilities. These positions typically require advanced knowledge of forest ecology, management skills, and sometimes a degree in forestry or environmental science.

What are the typical challenges faced by Fallers in their daily work?

Fallers regularly face challenging outdoor conditions such as rough terrain, inclement weather, and exposure to wildlife, which require flexibility and vigilance. The job also involves working with powerful, potentially dangerous machinery and navigating the risks of falling trees and branches. Because safety is critical, Fallers must remain constantly alert to their surroundings and frequently communicate with their team to coordinate safe tree felling operations. While physically demanding, the role offers a strong sense of accomplishment, camaraderie with skilled crews, and the potential to advance into supervisory positions or related forestry roles over time.

How much do hand fallers get paid?

Hand fallers typically earn between $15 and $25 per hour, depending on experience, location, and the complexity of the work. They often work in forestry or logging environments and may receive additional compensation for hazardous conditions or overtime.

What jobs make $3,000 a day?

Faller jobs, which involve cutting and removing trees in the logging industry, typically do not pay $3,000 a day. High-paying jobs that can reach this level include specialized roles such as surgeons, corporate executives, or certain high-level consultants, but these are unrelated to faller work. Most faller positions pay hourly or per project rates significantly below this amount.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Faller position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Faller, you need strong physical stamina, excellent hand-eye coordination, and in-depth knowledge of safe tree felling techniques, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent and on-the-job training. Mastery of chainsaws and other logging equipment, along with relevant safety certifications such as OSHA or specific state logging certificates, is typically required. Attention to detail, situational awareness, and teamwork are key soft skills, helping to navigate hazardous conditions and communicate effectively with crew members. These skills and qualifications are crucial for ensuring safety, efficiency, and productivity in a physically demanding and high-risk work environment.

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

A faller, typically involved in tree felling or logging, can earn around $4,000 weekly with experience and specialized skills, especially in high-risk environments. Such roles often require physical fitness, safety certifications, and knowledge of equipment, and they may involve seasonal or contract work that offers higher pay. However, these jobs are physically demanding and carry safety risks, and high earnings usually depend on experience and the specific industry sector.

What is a Faller job?

A Faller is a skilled worker responsible for cutting down trees in logging operations. They use chainsaws and other tools to fell trees safely and efficiently, considering factors like tree height, weight, and surrounding hazards. Fallers must have strong knowledge of tree species, cutting techniques, and safety procedures to prevent accidents. This job requires physical endurance, attention to detail, and adherence to environmental regulations.
