Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Fairgrounds Manager this position exists to assist the Fair office through the fair.ย  This position will answer basic questions regarding fair, answer phones and direct the public to appropriate fair staff as needed for assistance. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assists general public at the fair office.
  • Answers phone and directs people to appropriate location or staff.
  • Will perform other duties as needed or assigned by Fairgrounds Manager.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to maintain a positive, ethical, effective and professional working relationship with staff, department employees and the general public.
  • A professional appearance and attitude at all times is expected.
  • Must be dependable and capable of exercising good judgment on time management issues.
  • Should possess good written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment:

  • Routinely works with the public who may require the ultimate amount of patience.
  • Works in a busy, public environment with multiple distractions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
