Job description

You are applying for a position through Medix, a staffing agency. The actual posting represents a position at one of our clients.
Job Summary
Our client is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join their team. The primary responsibilities of this position include performing quality control procedures, conducting laboratory blood work, preparing slides for evaluation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies. The ideal candidate will provide accurate and timely laboratory procedures, maintain inventory, and address instrument malfunctions as needed.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform proper quality control procedures before proceeding with patient testing.
  • Conduct laboratory blood work including blood draws and handling specimens.
  • Prepare blood or bone marrow slides for evaluation and send lab work to the appropriate facilities.
  • Receive lab reports and document them for physician review.
  • Maintain adequate inventory and initiate troubleshooting procedures in case of instrument malfunction.
  • Perform therapeutic phlebotomy and compliance testing as required.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Experience in Phlebotomy, with the ability to perform 50 sticks per day.
  • Preferred: Phlebotomy Certification

Schedule/Shift
Monday to Friday, 8 am - 5 pm
