Job Description:

The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) will provide technical expertise and support to automotive customers primarily in the Detroit, Michigan region, focusing on Ethernet and automotive serial communications, embedded control systems, and C language programming. The FAE will work closely with sales, engineering, and product teams to deliver winning solutions, support the customer's engineering teams, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for customers, providing in-depth support for Ethernet, CAN, USB, serial communications, embedded control, and C language applications.
  • Collaborate with sales and product teams to understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate winning solutions across our broad portfolio.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, and training sessions for customers and internal teams.
  • Assist customers with system integration, troubleshooting, and optimization of embedded control systems and serial communication systems.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts in the Detroit and surrounding region.
  • Provide feedback to product development teams based on customer needs and market trends.
  • Prepare technical documentation, application notes, and reports as required.
  • Stay current with industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies in Ethernet, CAN, USB, serial communications, and embedded systems.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in automotive embedded control, with Ethernet, CAN, USB, automotive serial communications, and C language programming
  • Strong understanding of embedded hardware and software design principles.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
  • Experience in the industrial, medical, military, or consumer markets a plus.
  • Experience with other technologies such as FPGA, power, analog a plus.
  • Ability to travel locally to customer sites, plus occasional further travel for customer support and training, that may include overnight stays.
