Description
The Department of Music at Hofstra University invites applications for an adjunct faculty member to begin in the Fall 2026 semester. The successful candidate's primary responsibility will be teaching bassoon lessons. Instruction consists of ten (10) one-hour lessons per student over the course of the 15-week semester.
Additional responsibilities include adjudicating juries and recitals, participating in auditions, and assisting with recruitment activities for prospective students. Opportunities for further engagement may include coaching chamber ensembles, performances, faculty recitals, presenting workshops, and participating in community outreach.
Qualifications
Applicants are expected to have:
  • Master's Degree in Music in Bassoon or Music Education
  • Significant experience teaching musicians of varied ages and abilities
  • Significant performance experience

Preferred Quals Summary
  • Teaching experience at the college level.

$1,458 per credit hour
