L'operateur d'usine est responsable de la securite et de l'efficacite de l'utilisation du vehicule et peut egalement etre tenu d'effectuer des taches de remplissage et de verification des commandes.

L'operateur d'usine peut etre appele a travailler les jours feries et les fins de semaine de temps a autre.

Responsabilites specifiques:

  • Charger, decharger, deplacer, empiler et mettre en scene des produits et des materiaux a l'aide d'un chariot elevateur a fourche, d'un camion a pince, d'un chargeur frontal ou de tout autre equipement motorise ;

  • Preparer des melanges organiques ;

  • Pousser ou deplacer les piles pour assurer la segregation des materiaux ;

  • Approvisionner la production avec un stock continu de materiaux ;

  • Surveiller les stocks pour detecter toute chaleur excessive, retourner les stocks et eteindre les petits feux ;

  • S'assurer que les expeditions entrantes et sortantes sont precises et exemptes de dommages ;

  • Signaler les ecarts de qualite ;

  • Tirer et preparer les produits pour l'expedition, en s'assurant que le nombre et le type exacts de produits sont charges et expedies ;

  • Effectuer les taches de preparation des commandes de maniere efficace et conforme aux normes de service a la clientele ;

  • Deplacer efficacement les produits des zones d'attente et/ou de stockage vers les remorques ;

  • Utiliser un equipement a radiofrequence pour les fonctions de prelevement, de reception, d'entreposage et de chargement, selon les besoins ;

  • Maintenir l'equipement et le materiel de l'etablissement dans un etat de proprete et d'ordre ;

  • Sur une base quotidienne, inspecter et effectuer des entretiens mineurs sur le PIT ou d'autres equipements ;

  • Utiliser tous les equipements de maniere sure et efficace en suivant les methodes de travail prescrites ;

  • Tenir des registres et des rapports appropries afin de garantir le maintien d'un controle rigoureux des stocks et de la securite ;

  • Participer aux inventaires physiques ;

  • Aider a maintenir la securite de l'entrepot ;

  • Accomplir toute autre tache qui lui est confiee.

Qualifications requises:

  • Capacite a travailler en equipe ;

  • Doit avoir au moins un an d'experience dans la conduite d'un PIT ou d'autres equipements lourds ;

  • Doit etre capable d'effectuer des fonctions mathematiques de base telles que l'addition, la soustraction et la division ;

  • Doit etre capable de lire et d'ecrire ;

  • Doit etre capable de remplir les formulaires d'inspection avant le quart de travail ;

  • Se comporter d'une maniere qui favorise la securite.

Position Scope / Impact of Error:

Accountable to the Site Supervisor, the Operator, works with the site manager and supervisor(s), on a daily basis to ensure timely and accurate processes are followed in the preparation of our products and raw materials.

The Plant Operator, participates as an integral member of the Canada Supply Chain team and performs duties in accordance with the mandate and priorities of Scotts Canada Ltd.

Impact of recommendations, decisions and actions made by the incumbent: Low to Moderate

Position Authority:

The Plant Operator makes recommendations to the Site Supervisor (or designate) who makes the final decision.

Position Overview:

The Plant Operator is responsible for operating Powered Industrial Truck (PIT), front end loaders or other equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, count merchandise, move around finished palleted goods including loading/unloading trucks and flatbeds, prepares organic mixes using a heavy equipment loader, pushes or relocates piles to ensure segregation of materials. Supplies production with a continuous supply of material. Monitors the stockpiles for excessive heat, turns stockpiles, extinguishes small fires and ensures the proper amount of water is used to prepare the stockpile for production use.

The Plant Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform Order Filler and Checker duties

The Plant Operator may be required to work on holidays and weekends from time to time.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, front end loader, or other power equipment;

  • Prepare organic mixes;

  • Push or relocate piles to ensure segregation of materials;

  • Supply production with a continuous stock of material;

  • Monitor stockpiles for excessive heat, turns stockpiles, and extinguishes small fires;

  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage;

  • Report quality variances;

  • Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped;

  • Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards;

  • Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers;

  • Use radio frequency equipment for picking, receiving, put away, and load functions, as required;

  • Maintain the facility's equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion;

  • On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the PIT or other equipment;

  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods;

  • Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained;

  • Assist in physical inventories;

  • Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse;

  • Carry out any additional duties as assigned.

Requisite Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a team;

  • Must have at least one year experience operating a PIT or other heavy equipment;

  • Must be able to do basic math functions such as adding, subtracting and dividing;

  • Must be able to read and write;

  • Must be able to complete the pre-shift inspection forms;

  • Conduct themselves in a manner that promotes safety.
