Job description

Warehouse Driver

Join Komatsu and be part of something big! Primary function delivers parts to customers and performs numerous warehouse functions.

Duties:

  • Delivers parts to customers using warehouse trucks.
  • Responsible for maintaining a good rapport with customers and encouraging continued use of Joy parts and equipment.
  • May be required to make special or emergency truck runs outside of normal business hours.
  • Prepares parts for customer delivery, shipment to other warehouses, or return to the manufacturing facility.
  • Maintains correct stocking by properly storing received material and monitoring the status or parts within the storage bins.
  • Relocates high demand parts and bin overflow.
  • Operates warehouse equipment such as 2-ton cranes, fork lifts, computerized scales, computer and overhead cranes.
  • Reports maintenance problems on any warehouse equipment.

Factor specifications:

  • Education: Must be able to use warehouse equipment such as computerized scales, fork trucks, computer, etc.
  • Experience: Over one year, up to and including 3 years to become familiar with Joy parts and location of mine sites.
  • Complexity of duties: Must use judgment when working with customers on parts orders. Should have basic knowledge of each customer and their equipment.
  • Supervision received: Makes long runs to customer sites. May revise the run in order to service customer needs.
  • Errors: Errors in delivery could cause a loss of production at the mine site. Most orders are checked by order clerks.
  • Contact with others: Regular contact with customers
  • Confidential data: Has access and utilizes product costs in order to encourage the sale of Joy equipment and parts.
  • Mental or visual demand: Majority of work day will be spent driving to and from customer mines in two-ton trucks.
  • Working conditions: Must make delivery (load and unload) in all weather conditions.
