General Overview
The Facilities Assistant will primarily be responsible for supporting the upkeep and daily functionality of Heirloom's properties in the Savannah market. This position involves a variety of physical tasks, including moving and setting up furniture, stocking supplies, performing basic repairs, and assisting with deliveries. While not a skilled maintenance technician role, the Facilities Assistant will handle basic maintenance duties and lend a hand wherever needed to keep the properties up to brand standard.
Essential Functions
  • Perform simple repairs (e.g., changing light bulbs, fixing minor leaks, unclogging sinks) and report more complex issues to the Facilities Manager.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Technician to support essential home repairs
  • Move, set up, and break down furniture and equipment for meetings, events, and office reconfigurations.
  • Maintain cleanliness in outdoor areas, including leaf removal, pool skimming, trash removal.
  • Restock restroom and office supplies, monitor inventory levels, and inform management when items need to be ordered.
  • Accept deliveries, transport packages between properties and warehouses, and assist with outgoing shipments as needed.
  • Monitor waste and recycling bins, dispose of waste materials appropriately, and keep waste areas clean and orderly.
  • Assists in overseeing technicians when professional repairs are necessary
  • Reporting any needed repairs, low stock items, and facilities maintenance needs in a timely fashion
  • Assist with new property installations on an as needed basis (hang and mount art, decor, window treatments, mirrors, light fixtures, etc.)
  • Stock and maintain the company tool kit
  • Assume emergency on-call duty, when assigned
  • Special projects, as assigned

Requisites
  • Must have a valid driver's license, an upstanding driving record, and access to their own dependable truck and/or van (not a sedan)
  • Lives in close or commutable proximity to Savannah (within 30 minutes)
  • Prior experience with basic carpentry: feels comfortable repairing a broken bed support beam, can build a basic floating shelf, can repair a screen door
  • 1-2 years prior experience with basic facilities maintenance: can perform non-specialized tasks and knows when a professional should be called
  • Able to comfortably lift 50lbs and climb a ladder
  • Any kind of maintenance experience is a plus, but not a firm requirement

Schedule & Compensation
The Facilities Assistant is a part-time hourly role based in Savannah, GA. The work schedule is variable and is based on business needs. Weekend availability is required.
