The Facilities Engineer will play a vital role within the Development and Operations teams. The engineer will be responsible for the planning, design, optimization, and integrity of upstream oil and gas production facilities across our assets. This position will collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations while maintaining strong communication with field operations and supporting production optimization initiatives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with field operations team to optimize facility safety, performance, maximize uptime, and reduce operational disruptions.

  • Design and specify production facilities including separators, tanks, pumps, compressors, and associated piping and instrumentation

  • Participate in and lead HAZOPs and participate in PSSRs for new facilities and modifications.

  • Create AFE's for facility modifications, equipment upgrades, tie-ins, and maintenance projects.

  • Lead regularly scheduled facility reviews with field operations, production engineers, and maintenance teams.

  • Track and monitor capital spending and facility-related costs to meet budget targets and KPI's.

  • Diagnose root cause of facility and equipment failures, develop engineering solutions, evaluate economics, execute procedures, and perform lookbacks to improve systematic and recurring issues.

  • Monitor facility performance and conduct surveillance to identify bottlenecks, debottlenecking opportunities, and optimization projects to maximize asset value.

  • Ensure compliance with all HSE, regulatory, and environmental requirements including API, ASME, and state/federal regulations.

  • Support permitting activities and interface with regulatory agencies as needed.

  • Benchmarking facility performance to competitors.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Anticipate travel to field locations as projects demand.

Required Experience & Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering or related field of study

  • At least eight (8) years of experience in the Oil & Gas Production Facilities or Chemical Process Industry

  • Professional Engineer (PE), Association for Facilities Engineering (AFE), American Petroleum Institute (API), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), or related certifications

  • Possess valid driver's license and clean driving record (MVR) that meet Company's Insurance qualifications to operate Company vehicle

  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical and critical thinking abilities

  • Knowledge of facility design principles and industry association best practices, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, hydraulic analysis, and process modeling software.

  • Understanding of upstream oil and gas separation equipment, artificial lift systems, and gathering systems.

  • Solid understanding of well pad design, process flow diagrams, P&ID, equipment and piping drawings
