Description:

SUMMARY:

Assists the Facilities Team in all aspects of operations, maintenance, and repair of the IAIA campus, buildings, grounds, vehicles, and equipment, focusing on assisting in preventative maintenance of HVAC systems.

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in preventive maintenance of all HVAC units on campus and/or museum properties, including changing filters and belts, cleaning coils, inspecting units, and performing minor repairs.
  • Assisting with Ordering and Inventorying stock of filters and belts
  • Assisting with scheduling and maintaining accurate records of when service is done
  • Assisting with calling vendors to perform significant repairs on HVAC
  • Complete in an accurate and timely manner a wide range of assigned maintenance tasks, work orders, and a project on IAIA facilities and grounds, including but not limited to minor carpentry, painting, and minor repairs.
  • Assist with the assembly of furniture and fixtures.
  • Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of IAIA vehicles.
  • Complete assigned errands for the department, such as purchasing supplies or delivering items/materials.
  • Participates as a member of the IAIA snow removal team and assists with general upkeep of Campus grounds

Manage F&O desk

* Keep areas clean and well organized

* Proficient with computers, printers, and office equipment

* Manage and organize work orders, timekeeping system, and timecards

* Ensure the front desk operates in a professional, efficient manner

* Act as the office's initial point of contact, handling inquiries on conferences, facilities, or other requests or items

  • Oversee student workers as necessary
  • Receive packages and deliveries
  • Enter items into the QTrak Package Tracking System – Receive and Route
  • Coordinate with other student staff for delivery
  • Manage cage checkout and item return process
  • Manage key checkout process
  • Coordinate or Pickup mail from the Welcome Center each day

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must have a high school diploma and at least one year of direct and comparable maintenance experience in a large facility or school. Must have a current and valid NM driver’s license. Must have a clean driving record to be bondable to drive an IAIA vehicle. Must have an acceptable background check result.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Tasks are performed in varied external climates, varying from extreme cold to hot weather.
  • Tasks are also performed in interior environments that may contain dust, fumes, and particles.
  • Duties require the ability to reach, stoop, bend, and crawl.
  • Duties require the ability to move and maneuver items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Duties require the ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Duties require the ability to effectively and safely use various maintenance tools.
  • Duties require the ability to climb ladders to complete tasks, which may include climbing to the roofs of buildings.
