Glazing Engineer / Building Envelope Technical Consultant - Fort Lauderdale, FL

Help Shape Landmark Facade and Curtain Wall Projects

We are seeking an experienced Glazing Engineer / Building Envelope Technical Consultant to support a growing portfolio of curtain wall, glazing, facade, and building envelope projects.

This is an opportunity for a technically driven professional who enjoys solving complex challenges, coordinating with architects and engineers, supporting fabrication and construction teams, and helping bring sophisticated building envelope systems from concept through installation.

You will serve as a key technical resource supporting engineering coordination, design-assist efforts, shop drawing review, product approvals, fabrication support, testing coordination, QA/QC initiatives, and project execution across commercial construction projects.

YOU WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Lead engineering and design coordination efforts for curtain wall, storefront, window wall, and specialty glazing systems
  • Provide technical consulting related to building envelope design, constructability, and performance
  • Review shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and technical submittals for compliance with project requirements
  • Support product approval processes, testing requirements, and code compliance initiatives
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, owners, contractors, fabrication teams, and field personnel
  • Assist with Design-Assist and Design-Build project delivery efforts
  • Provide CAD, BIM, and Revit coordination support
  • Assist project teams in resolving field conditions and technical challenges
  • Support estimating and preconstruction teams with technical reviews and constructability input
  • Participate in QA/QC reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist with development of new systems, technical standards, and engineering best practices
  • Provide technical mentoring and training to project, drafting, and fabrication teams

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Architectural, or related Engineering discipline
  • 7+ years of experience in curtain wall, glazing, facade engineering, or building envelope systems
  • Strong understanding of commercial glazing systems, curtain wall assemblies, storefront systems, and facade construction
  • Experience reviewing engineering calculations, structural glazing details, and shop drawings
  • Knowledge of ASTM testing standards, product approvals, and building code requirements
  • Experience supporting fabrication, installation, and field operations
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM coordination tools, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Experience

  • Design-Build or Design-Assist project experience
  • Product approval and testing coordination experience
  • Building envelope consulting experience
  • Curtain wall fabrication and installation knowledge
  • QA/QC program development experience
  • Florida Product Approval and High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) experience
