Fabric Associate information

What is a fabric associate?

Fabric Associates are retail workers who specialize in textiles and fabrics, assisting customers in selecting materials for sewing, crafts, or upholstery projects. They are knowledgeable about various types of fabrics, their uses, and care instructions. Fabric Associates also measure and cut fabric, maintain store displays, and ensure inventory is stocked. They provide customer service by answering questions, offering recommendations, and sometimes helping with basic sewing advice.

What are the typical daily responsibilities of a fabric associate in a retail setting?

As a Fabric Associate in a retail environment, you can expect to spend your days assisting customers with fabric selections, cutting fabric to customer specifications, and answering questions about different textiles and notions. Additionally, you'll help maintain an organized and visually appealing sales floor, restock fabric bolts, and ensure pricing accuracy. Collaboration with team members is common, especially during busy periods or when handling large fabric orders, and you may also assist in inventory management and special in-store promotions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a fabric associate, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Fabric Associate, you need knowledge of textiles, basic math skills for measuring materials, and often a high school diploma. Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, inventory management software, and fabric cutting tools is typically required. Strong customer service, attention to detail, and clear communication help distinguish top performers in this role. These skills are vital for ensuring accurate transactions, maintaining inventory, and providing a positive shopping experience for customers.

The Sr. Manager Data Fabric of Operations drives end-to-end delivery excellence for NUSA data initiatives across Supply Chain, Technical & Production (T&P), and Procurement in support of Nestle USA's ambition to unlock operational agility, measurable business impact, and data-driven decision-making. This role is critical for spearheading the design and operationalization of a new way of enabling data across Operations. Partnering with Finance, Functional Relationship Managers, vendors, and senior stakeholders, you'll oversee dynamic staffing pods, manage project financials, and keep agile delivery tightly aligned to the portfolio.

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery lifecycle for data initiatives, from requirements through execution and value realization
  • Spearhead the design and operationalization of a new data-enablement process, iterating to make it work in unclear and evolving areas
  • Align delivery priorities with IT/Digital and Operations objectives across Supply Chain, T&P, and Procurement, dynamically managing resources to maximize value delivery
  • Partner with Finance on the financial aspects of new projects, including budgeting, cost optimization, and value tracking
  • Oversee vendors and dynamic staffing pods, balancing delivery capacity, cost, and outcomes
  • Drive agile delivery practices and portfolio alignment to ensure speed, quality, and continuous improvement across cross-functional teams
  • Enforce delivery governance, standards, and best practices, with clear KPIs and success metrics tied to operational outcomes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 9+ years of experience in large-scale program delivery, data/technology initiatives, or product/delivery leadership roles
  • 7+ years of experience managing complex, cross-functional programs and stakeholder ecosystems, including external vendors and delivery partners
  • 5+ years of experience driving agile delivery, portfolio management, and value realization across enterprise initiatives
  • 5+ years of experience enforcing governance, standards, and delivery best practices, with clear KPIs and measurable business outcomes

Other

  • MBA or advanced degree in business, technology, or a related field is preferred
  • Experience in data platforms, analytics, or data fabric environments is preferred
  • Familiarity with financial management, budgeting, and cost optimization (in partnership with Finance/ Value Management Office) is preferred
  • Experience supporting Supply Chain, Procurement, or Operations functions is preferred

Don't meet all the qualifications listed under "Other"? These are preferred, but not required. When you apply for a role with Nestle, we ensure that individual confidentiality is held to the highest regard. We are intentional about creating an inclusive workplace for everyone. We consider our associates our most valuable assets. Please apply for full consideration.

The approximate pay range for this position is $165,000 to $225,000 per year. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. Nestle offers performance-based incentives and a competitive total rewards package, which includes a 401k with company match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of other benefits. It is our business imperative to remain a very inclusive workplace.
