Ready to shape the future of science and global health? A global nonprofit that provides trusted biological materials for science and health, ATCC is hiring an Associate Product Manager to support primary and advanced models. This role contributes to the planning, execution, and optimization of products and product portfolios supporting ATCCโ€™s advanced model and primary cell business. Working in a hybrid environment (4 days/week onsite) in Gaithersburg, MD or Manassas, VA, the Associate Product Manager analyzes customer, market, competitive, operational, and business information to support product strategy, commercialization activities, portfolio decisions, and lifecycle management. 
 
We are seeking an Associate Product Manager, ideally with product management, market analysis, or portfolio planning experience and experience supporting life sciences, bioproduction, biological materials, or related commercial environments.   • Product lifecycle and portfolio management: Evaluate product lifecycle opportunities and challenges for assigned products, including product launches, portfolio optimization, product enhancements, and end-of-life planning. Recommend actions that support portfolio performance and customer needs.
  • Market, customer, and competitive analysis: Analyze market trends, customer feedback, competitive activity, customer adoption, and sales performance to identify opportunities, risks, and recommendations that inform product and portfolio decisions.
  • Business cases and planning: Develop business cases, analyses, forecasts, and recommendations that support portfolio planning, commercialization activities, product investments, and resource prioritization.
  • Roadmap, positioning, and commercialization support: Recommend product roadmap updates, product positioning, portfolio priorities, and lifecycle actions based on market conditions, customer needs, business objectives, and product performance data. Support go-to-market activities through analysis related to pricing, launch planning, channel considerations, and customer adoption strategies.
  • Cross-functional product initiatives: Coordinate cross-functional product initiatives and New Product Development activities by evaluating project status, identifying risks, recommending solutions, and facilitating alignment among Marketing, Sales, Operations, Scientific, and Technical teams.
  • Product performance and process improvement: Monitor and evaluate product and portfolio performance metrics, prepare product, market, competitive, and portfolio analyses, and identify improvements to product management processes, reporting, workflows, and tools.
     

  • Minimum Requirement: Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience, or equivalent experience (Master's degree and 0 years, or HS Diploma and 6 years).
  • Ability to support departmental or organizational objectives by applying specialized skills and knowledge to specific tasks or projects with sound judgment, prioritization, and autonomy.
  • Experience analyzing customer, market, competitive, operational, and business information to support product and portfolio decisions.
  • Experience developing business cases, analyses, forecasts, recommendations, product documentation, training materials, sales enablement tools, or product content.
  • Ability to assess customer insights, Voice of Customer feedback, market intelligence, and product-related issues to recommend corrective or improvement actions.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Scientific, or Technical teams.
  • Understanding or prior experience in life science industry preferred. 
  • Experience supporting commercialization, launch planning, pricing, product positioning, or customer adoption strategies preferred.
  • Experience participating in customer meetings, conferences, webinars, or other market-facing activities preferred.
     

The expected salary range for this position is $90,000 to $100,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional incentive compensation including regular merit increases and the corporate bonus program.
