Overview

The Field Service Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing on-site manufacturing, installation, service, and maintenance activities for food processing equipment. This role ensures that all field operations meet the highest quality standards, are completed on schedule and budget, and advance the company’s commitment to customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. The Field Service Lead also contributes to sales growth by identifying customer needs, recommending solutions, and supporting strong client relationships. Success in this position requires hands-on technical expertise, proactive communication, and the ability to lead teams effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Essential Functions

 

Quality and Compliance

·       Ensure all field work adheres to regulatory, safety, and food industry standards.

·       Conduct quality checks on installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.

·       Train team members on proper procedures, equipment use, and quality expectations.

·       Document work performed, deviations, and corrective actions accurately.

Project Execution and Timeliness

·       Plan and coordinate daily field activities to ensure on-time project delivery.

·       Monitor labor hours, materials usage, and project progress against budgets.

·       Troubleshoot challenges in real time, allocating resources as needed to maintain schedule.

·       Communicate project updates and timelines to customers and internal stakeholders.

·       Manage workflow efficiency and reduce downtime through proactive planning.

 

Customer Service and Sales Support

·       Serve as the on-site point of contact for customers, ensuring professional and responsive experience.

·       Communicate project updates, resource needs, and schedule changes clearly and professionally.

·       Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, parts replacement, or additional services, and work.

·       Support the development of quotes, scopes of work, and project proposals.

·       Help maintain long-term customer relationships by providing knowledgeable guidance and trustworthy service.

 

Team Leadership and Collaboration

·       Lead, monitor, and motivate team to ensure high performance and teamwork.

·       Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

·       Coordinate with management and production to align field activities with company goals.

·       Participate in planning meetings and provide input on projects, improvements, and challenges.

 

Attitude and Culture

·       Lead by example with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.

·       Foster teamwork, accountability, and respect within the company.

·       Address personnel issues promptly, professionally, and constructively, asking for help as needed.

 

Tig Welder

·       Fabrication of stainless steel products to food grade standards

·       Weld pipe – carbon and stainless

·       Produce quality products while assisting with problems as they arise

·       Participate in safety meetings

·       Maintain work area upkeep, organization, tooling, equipment, and cleanliness

 

Qualifications

·       1+ years of experience in metal welding/fabrication shop environment

·       Clean driving record

·       Experience pulling, loading, unloading, backing trailers

·       Ability to meet deadlines and schedules

·       Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure

·       Excellent leadership and team management skills

·       Reliable

·   Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral and the ability to work collaboratively with others

·       Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and drawings

·       Metal fabrication and layout understanding

·       Experience in fab welding, assembly of conveyor systems, and troubleshooting

·       Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail.

·       Willing to travel and work overtime as needed

Physical Demands and Abilities

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee will be required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

This job is operated in a typical fabrication shop environment, as well as in food processing facilities. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations. Power tools, including saws, and forklifts, are also frequently used. Noise levels in the work environment can be loud.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time hourly position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, a 40-hour work week with overtime as necessary. This position is also required to travel out of town from time to time. The company base for this position is located in our shop at 359 W 100 S Paul, Idaho.
