Position Overview

The Senior F5 Engineer will serve as the primary subject matter expert for F5 application delivery services within a complex enterprise environment. This role focuses on the design, implementation, configuration, migration, and support of F5 BIG IP platforms. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with F5 modules along with a strong background in enterprise and data center networking, application delivery, and cloud connectivity.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, configure, and support F5 BIG IP solutions including LTM, GTM or DNS, ASM, APM, AFM, and related features.
  • Create and maintain advanced F5 configurations including virtual servers, pools, profiles, monitors, iRules, and SSL certificates.
  • Lead migration efforts from legacy load balancing platforms into F5 environments including virtual editions and VCMP guests.
  • Perform F5 software upgrades, hotfix deployment, and platform refresh activities.
  • Develop and run test plans to validate new designs, functions, and upgrade readiness.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting for application delivery, load balancing, DNS, SSL termination, and global traffic routing.
  • Support integration of F5 services with cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.
  • Collaborate with network, cloud, security, and application teams to deliver fully integrated solutions.
  • Produce clear documentation including detailed designs, as built diagrams, configuration standards, and migration run books.
  • Provide mentorship and direction to engineering staff as the senior level subject matter expert.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience with F5 BIG IP platforms including LTM and GTM with advanced level configuration, testing, and troubleshooting skill.
  • Strong expertise in networking including IPv4, IPv6, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs, multicast, DHCP, SNMP, and DNS.
  • Experience with application delivery design, load balancing strategies, and SSL certificate management.
  • Background supporting enterprise and data center network architecture including Cisco, Juniper, Arista, and related technologies.
  • Experience with cloud connectivity and cloud network integration including Azure and Google Cloud.
  • Ability to automate tasks using Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools.
  • Experience supporting large scale high availability environments with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex solutions to technical and non technical audiences.
  • Previous experience in a banking environment
