F5 Engineer

The Opportunity:

Manage, administer, support, and enhance cloud environments, ensuring continuous improvement and rapid problem resolution. Apply advanced skills, extensive technical expertise, and full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction, and mentor and supervise team members.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience working with F5 Big-IP LTM in an enterprise environment

  • 3+ years of experience implementing multi-tiered web solutions

  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex network and application issues

  • Experience F5 Application Policy Manager (APM), F5 Advanced Firewall Manager (AFM), or F5 Advanced Web Application Firewall (AWAF)

  • Experience creating and editing F5 iRules

  • Experience using TCPdump and Wireshark to analyze network traffic or packets

  • Knowledge of PKI, SSL/TLS, LDAP, DNS, Active Directory, network security, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems and intrusion prevention systems (IDS/IPS)

  • Secret clearance

  • HS diploma or GED and 5+ years of experience in Network Engineering or Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience in Network Engineering

Nice If You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience in Linux systems administration

  • Experience with F5 Big-IP administration in an AWS Cloud environment

  • Experience remediating DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)

  • Experience with firewall design and network security, including device hardening, IDS/IPS, SIEM, firewalls and internet protocol security, vulnerability assessment, and intrusion detection

  • Experience managing a Splunk Enterprise server

  • Knowledge of SSL VPN remote access on F5 Big-IP set-up

  • Knowledge of AWS Direct Connection, VPC, Transit Gateway, and security groups

  • Knowledge of Single Sign-On, including SAML, OAuth, and OIDC

  • AWS Solutions Architect Associate, and F5 101 or 201 Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
