We’re looking for a hands‑on and results‑driven Extrusion Manager to join a stable and well‑established leader in the flexible packaging industry. This role is critical to managing extrusion department employees and equipment, ensuring continuous improvement in safety, quality, waste reduction, and productivity.

As Extrusion Manager, you will lead safety initiatives, oversee production quality, and drive efficiency improvements in setup, downtime, and run speeds. You’ll supervise manufacturing supervisors and process engineers, foster teamwork through clear communication, and support plant‑wide operations when needed. This position requires strong leadership, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to optimize extrusion processes while maintaining compliance with GMPs and safety standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead departmental safety efforts and participate in COE safety committees.
  • Ensure product quality through process controls and GMP adherence.
  • Analyze and reduce waste, meeting divisional waste goals.
  • Achieve budgeted production standards for setup, downtime, and run speeds.
  • Communicate department performance and objectives to employees.
  • Evaluate and train employees, rewarding high performance and addressing issues as needed.
  • Identify maintenance needs and coordinate with scheduling and engineering.
  • Recommend and justify capital improvements to enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for extrusion operations.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and training.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of extrusion processes.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to analyze safety incidents, quality defects, and productivity losses to implement corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices preferred.
