Position Overview:
 
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Extrusion Supervisor to oversee our plastic extrusion operations. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge in polymer processing, strong leadership abilities, and a proven track record in optimizing production processes and ensuring product quality. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient operations, training junior technicians, and contributing to a robust manufacturing environment.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up, operate, and make all necessary adjustments to extrusion lines to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Install and change extrusion heads, dies, pins, sizing sleeves, screens, and extruder screws as required.
  • Supervise the daily operations of all production functions under the guidance of the Extrusion Manager.
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate Extrusion Line Technicians, ensuring adherence to production, inspection, and safety procedures.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional checks of extruded parts, recording data and making adjustments to maintain quality.
  • Manage raw material feeding systems, including arrangement and mixing, for continuous production.
  • Troubleshoot and detect flaws in raw materials and production equipment, implementing necessary mechanical or material changes.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of production set-ups, data, and quality control reports.
  • Assist the Extrusion Manager in implementing corrective action procedures.
  • Schedule hours and shifts for Extrusion Line Technicians to ensure optimal staffing and coverage.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in plastic extrusion operations, demonstrating the ability to set up and operate extrusion lines. 
  • Prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Ability to set up and operate all extrusion lines using various thermoplastic materials.
  • Ability to visually check extruded parts for defects and verify dimensions.
  • Capability to arrange raw material feeding systems and mix raw materials.
  • Aptitude to instruct lower-grade machine tenders in extrusion line operation. set-ups, extrusion production data, statistical process control, or inspection reports.
  • Strong leadership, training, and communication skills to effectively supervise Extrusion Line Technicians.
