Machine Operator – Extrusion: Lena, Illinois
Our customer in Lena, Illinois is looking for a hardworking, detailoriented individual to join their team as a Machine Operator – Extrusion to work fulltime on 1st shift. In this role, you will support the production of brie, goat, and feta cheese by operating extrusion equipment and assisting with key steps in the manufacturing process while following food safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities of the Machine Operator – Extrusion:
  • Operate extrusion equipment to produce brie bite portions according to specifications.
  • Maintain production standards on extrusion machines.
  • Verify portion size of products extruded from machines.
  • Rotate racks of brie bites from the extrusion machine.
  • Load extrusion hoppers with fresh brie curd from the production line.
  • Verify temperatures and parameters in cooling and extrusion rooms.
  • Complete daily production and output reports accurately.
  • Follow production output standards for pounds or pieces per hour.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout the shift.
  • Follow all standard work methods and safe work practices at all times.
Machine Operator – Extrusion Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
  • Ability to stand continuously and perform repetitive physical tasks.
  • Ability to bend, squat occasionally, climb stairs or ladders, and reach frequently.
  • Ability to push or pull pallets up to 1,000 lbs. using a pallet jack.
  • Ability to work in environments with exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, noise, vibration, and humidity.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in food manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Cheesemaker license required for level 3 positions (if applicable).
  • Forklift experience and certification required for material handling duties (if applicable).
Pay for Machine Operator – Extrusion: $19.00/hour.
