Job description

Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Summary:

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment to meet production requirements. The Machine Operator receives direction from the Line Lead, Supervisor, and Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate high speed vertical fill form seal packaging machines, slicing machine, cup machines or bagging machines.
  • Perform daily pre-operational maintenance checks.
  • Able to disassemble and reassemble machine correctly.
  • Monitor and evaluate product to confirm quality standards are achieved.
  • Retrieve raw material and stage in designated location.
  • Fill machine with material to ensure uptime.
  • Work within a team of 3-6 workers, proactively seeking communication to maintain product flow, and assist in other jobs where needed.
  • Able to perform sanitation throughout the shift and participate in weekly cleanings.
  • Able to work overtime based on business needs.
  • All other duties assigned

Hours & Classification:

Production schedules are as follows but may be modified based on business needs.

  • 1st shift: 4:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • 2nd shift: 4:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.

Requirements:

  • 1-year experience in a related environment and operating a packaging machine is a plus.
  • Understands and is familiar with HAACP, SQF, GMP’s, and FDA guidelines.
  • Ability to work and communicate well with others.
  • Must be able to display mechanical and problem-solving skills.
  • Heavy lifting may be required.
  • Attention to detail
  • Willing to perform repetitive task for extended periods.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and stoop variously for extended periods of time
