Job Title: Extrusion Assistant Operator
Schedule: Monday-Thursday from 6:45 AM-6:45 PM
Location: Sussex, WI
General Scope of Job
The Extruder Assistant is responsible for assisting with the operation of the extruding blown film lines to ensure efficient production of high-quality film. Maintaining materials for extruders and properly handling all inventories. Independently be able to operate one extrusion line.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists Operator in the operation of blown film extruders
  • Assists in the set-up of production runs and roll changes
  • Performs quality checks visually and by using various measurement tools to ensure overall quality per product requirements
  • Maintains materials for the extruders
  • Completes production reporting accurately
  • Accurately labels completed rolls and other inventories
  • Operates and maintains forklift and material handling equipment safely
  • Exercises good manufacturing practices when using or handling inventories
  • Operates core cutting machine and palletizing equipment
  • Maintains an organized, clean, and safe department
  • Notifies Lead or Manager of machine/material related problems
  • Acquires knowledge and skills of Extruder Operator position
  • Takes direction well and communicates effectively with others to ensure an efficient and positive work environment
  • Attends meetings and safety trainings, as required
  • Adheres to all company safety rules and guidelines
  • Is aware of the company quality policy and understands how the job relates to it
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned subject to reasonable accommodations
  • Ability to utilize basic Microsoft platforms

Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred
One year experience in a technically oriented position desired
