Soft Chew Extruder (Operator 1)

Position – Soft Chew Extruder (Operator 1)

Job Location – Menomonie, WI

Starting Date – Immediate

Employment Term – Long-Term Temporary to Hire

Employment Type – Full-Time

Work Hours (Shift) – 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Starting Pay – $18.00 per hour; increases to $20.00 per hour upon permanent hire

Required Education – High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Experience – Previous manufacturing, production, or machine operation experience preferred

Position Summary

As a Soft Chew Extruder, you will help operate production equipment used to manufacture animal health and nutritional products. You will be responsible for machine setup and teardown, monitoring product quality, completing required checks, and assisting with equipment and production-area cleaning.

This position is best suited for a dependable, self-motivated individual who can work independently, stay on task, and take initiative to keep production moving.

Responsibilities

• Set up and tear down production equipment
• Operate and monitor equipment used in soft chew production
• Monitor product quality and consistency throughout production
• Complete required metal detection checks
• Clean machine parts after production is completed
• Assist with cleaning and maintaining the production room, including scheduled deep cleaning
• Assist with packaging and labeling products as needed
• Follow established safety, quality, sanitation, and production procedures
• Work independently while communicating effectively with the production team
• Help ensure daily production batches are completed accurately and efficiently

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Stable and reliable work history
• Previous manufacturing, production, or machine operation experience preferred
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Strong attention to detail and product quality
• Dependable with a positive, get-it-done attitude
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for the majority of the shift, with some seated work as production allows
• Ability to regularly bend, reach, twist, lift, and move throughout the workday
• Comfortable performing equipment and production-area cleaning
• Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check

Work Environment

You will work in an active manufacturing environment producing animal health and nutritional products, including soft chews, gels, and dry mixes. Employees receive two paid 15-minute breaks and one unpaid 30-minute meal break.

The standard schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Because production batches must be completed the same day, employees must be flexible to occasionally come in early or stay late with limited notice. Occasional Saturday work may also be required based on production needs.

Cell phones are not permitted in the production area and must be left in your vehicle during the workday.
