Position Overview

The Area Director of Sales is responsible for leading the sales strategy and revenue generation efforts for branded hotels in Prattville, Alabama:

  • Homewood Suites by Hilton
  • StudioRes by Marriott

This highly visible leadership role is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales initiatives that maximize occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and market share while establishing StudioRes as Prattville's premier midscale extended-stay option.

The ideal candidate brings a successful track record in hotel sales with significant experience in the extended-stay segment and enjoys building business through proactive selling, community engagement, and strategic account management.

Key Responsibilities

Drive Revenue Performance

  • Develop and execute comprehensive segmented sales strategies for both hotels.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities across all market segments.
  • Build a strong extended-stay customer base
  • Manage local negotiated rate accounts and national opportunities.
  • Maximize occupancy and ADR through strategic account acquisition and retention.
  • Conduct weekly sales calls, prospecting activities, and outside appointments.

Lead the StudioRes Market Launch

  • Develop the go-to-market sales strategy for the opening of StudioRes.
  • Establish the hotel as the preferred extended-stay solution within the Prattville and Montgomery markets.
  • Build awareness of the StudioRes brand through networking and community partnerships.
  • Create strong relationships with local employers, economic development organizations, chambers of commerce, and travel influencers.

Partner for Success

  • Work closely with Regional Revenue Management to optimize pricing and inventory strategies.
  • Collaborate with hotel operations to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction and account retention.
  • Participate in weekly revenue strategy meetings.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline management through CRM systems.
  • Prepare sales reports, monthly action plans, and annual business plans.

Represent the Hotels

  • Serve as the face of both hotels within the community.
  • Attend networking events, trade shows, civic organizations, and industry functions.
  • Develop partnerships that generate long-term revenue opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive hotel sales experience.
  • Previous Director of Sales, Dual Director of Sales, or Area Director of Sales experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success selling extended-stay hotels.
  • Experience with Hilton and/or Marriott brands.
  • Previous pre-opening sales experience.
  • Proven ability to develop new business and grow market share.
  • Strong understanding of revenue management principles.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and hotel sales systems.

 

Preferred Experience

  • Extended Stay America, Homewood Suites, Home2 Suites, TownePlace Suites, Residence Inn, WoodSpring Suites, Candlewood Suites, My Place, Everhome Suites, StudioRes, or similar extended-stay brands.
  • Delphi, HotelKey, OnQ, CI/TY, Marriott systems, or comparable CRM/PMS platforms.
  • Experience selling both Marriott and Hilton branded hotels.
  • Deliver revenue growth while maintaining brand integrity and exceptional guest experiences.
