Job description

Job Summary:

Diagnoses and completes less complex repairs to engines at the customer's site.

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Kamloops, BC). 

Main location is Kamloops reporting to the Remote Mining West operation based in Hinton.

Will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
  • Maintain own tools

Main location is Kamloops reporting to the Remote Mining West operation based in Hinton.

We are seeking a new team member for a position that operates on a 7on/7off rotation with 12hour shifts under a collective bargaining agreement. The primary schedule will be day shift, though occasional night shifts may be required.

In this role, you will support our customers across multiple locations within our operating area, with the potential to assist at our sister operations when needed.

You will work at various mineral mine sites, performing diagnostics and repairs on both Cummins and nonCummins engines and equipment.

We will require a journeyperson with red seal.

Pre-access Drug and Alcohol testing will be required for some sites.

-This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations and must meet the conditions of the company policy

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally valid driving permit
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Basic level field service work experience
Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
Customer service experience
