An expert witness testimony is the opinion or analysis provided in court by someone who has specialized knowledge, training, or experience in a particular field relevant to a legal case. Expert witnesses help judges and juries understand complex or technical aspects of the evidence by offering professional insights that laypeople may not possess. Their testimony is often crucial in both civil and criminal cases, as it can clarify facts, support claims, or challenge the opposing side’s arguments. Expert witnesses must be impartial and base their opinions on facts, reliable methods, and their area of expertise.
