Job description

Our Opportunity:


The Assistant Branch Manager will help drive operations and effective team member development to ensure exceptional member service and branch goal achievement. Actively engages in activities supporting efficient and compliant branch operations and team member development, coaching, and leadership strategies to support the CU’s mission, vision, strategic plan, goals, and service promises. Assumes responsibility for the operation of the branch during any absence of the branch manager. Plays a key role in building and maintaining member relationships.

What You'll Do in This Role:

  • Ensures self and team members can enhance the financial lives of our members by identifying their short and long-term financial needs and goals and assisting them to achieve these goals, through active listening and confidently recommending appropriate products and services utilizing a consultative, relationship-building sales approach.
  • Assists with leading, coaching and developing the branch team to meet goals and deadlines as established to include, but not limited to ensuring team members meet monthly sales requirements under CCF’s Sales and Service Plan, meet volume participation requirements for the sale of ancillary products such as credit insurance, GAP, and MBP, and effectively documenting member interviews in CCF’s core system. Assists with coaching team to maintain strong product knowledge through frequent observations, work inspection, and providing regular feedback.
  • Assists with ensuring teller and member transactions are processed accurately, efficiently and within established compliance and credit union guidelines. Actively follows-up and reviews branch activities to ensure compliance.
  • Assists in leading the branch team to service all members with their questions and concerns and to improve the financial lives of our membership. Motivates, coaches, trains, and develops the branch team holding them accountable to the service promises, mission, vision, goals and productivity standards defined by the Credit Union, in conjunction with the Member Experience Manager. Assists with member escalations to resolve concerns and issues.
  • Assists Member Contact Experience Manager in the planning, controlling, managing and coordination of branch operation activities to include, but not limited to scheduling, maintaining adequate staffing, directing work, cross-training, reporting, overseeing loan, teller and member services operations.
  • Participates and assists in conducting team member check-ins and provides input in department level sales meetings where goals are actively discussed, set and reviewed.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

What You'll Bring To CCF:

  • Two to five years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.
  • A high school degree or GED is required.
  • A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required.
  • In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with team members and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature.
  • Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrates the ability to process and analyze loan applications.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of business, personal, and insurance products and services.
  • Demonstrates the ability to interpret and apply financial information (e.g., credit scores, debt, assets, balances, payments, interest rates, etc.) and perform math functions (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and ratios).
  • Demonstrates the ability to consult, provide member services, and achieve relationship sales objectives by anticipating and understanding member’s needs and recommending products that will benefit them.
  • Demonstrates problem solving, decision making, and judgment by gathering and applying relevant data to research and resolve issues.
  • Demonstrates the ability to prioritize and organize work, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast paced, high-volume environment.
  • Proficient in speaking and writing the English language.
  • Proficient in leading, coaching, developing, and holding team accountable.
