Albany State University is a fully accredited senior unit of the University System of Georgia. Location
Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.
Job Summary
Student Assistants will perform various job duties as requested by the Center. These range from greeting parents/guardians/guests to assisting with the Center's Academic Interventions and Extended Learning Programs to answering the phone to serving as a social media/marketing assistant at the Center After School Program.
Responsibilities
- Student Assistants will perform various job duties as requested by the Center. These range from greeting parents/guardians/guests to assisting with the Center's Academic Interventions and Extended Learning Programs to answering the phone to serving as a social media/marketing assistant at the Center After School Program.
- Under close supervision, student assistants provide educational outreach and tutoring support for the center's after-school program, which serves K¿12 students. This includes assisting with media and STEM/STEAM programming.
- Student assistants play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of educational outreach initiatives while demonstrating a strong commitment to community engagement, educational equity, and the Center's mission and values.
- Responsibilities include answering inbound calls, making outbound calls, responding to emails, utilizing social media platforms, and performing light clerical duties. Student Assistants also facilitate or support educational sessions, assist with homework, monitor outdoor activities, and participate in other outreach and program-related tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must be currently enrolled at Albany State University and be taking a minimum of six (6) undergraduate credit hours or three (3) graduate credit hours. Preferred majors include Child Care, Nursing, Education/Teaching, Communication, Film and Production, Engineering, Marketing, and/or Technology.
