Job Description:

Are you ready for a challenge that will keep you on the edge in the field of military operations and planning? Would you like to lead a team of Exercise Planners with experience developing an exercise from conceptualization to CONOP brief? Imagine yourself working on top-level, critical mission sets alongside other seasoned professionals.

Parsons is now hiring an Exercise Planner with a passion for innovation and solving mission critical challenges to support our Muscatatuck Training Center (MuTC) Advanced Cyber Center - Testing, Training, and Experimentation (MACC-TTE) customers. Those customers include; National Guard Bureau (NGB), Office of the Secretary of War (OSW), the Joint Staff, United States Service Components, other relevant Governmental agencies and Joint, Interagency, Intergovernmental, and Multinational (JIIM) Partners.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Assist the Program Management with communication and coordination of all national and international level exercises.
  • Lead a team of Exercise Planneers in coordinating and executing exercises for NGB, DoW, the Joint Staff, United States Service Components, other relevant Governmental agencies and Joint, Interagency, Intergovernmental, and Multinational (JIIM) Partners
  • Development of after-action reports, improvement plans and corrective action plans following tabletop exercises, drills, full-scale exercises, and real-world events
  • Develop educational training overviews and briefings for Subject Matter Experts (SME) and deliver them to agency personnel in line with adult learning best practices
  • Conduct trend analyses from exercise data, capturing innovative practices and lessons learned, and track implementation activities to be shared with a variety of agencies and organizations
  • Develop training objectives in conjunction with exercise participants and all stakeholders
  • Draft and develop realistic threat scenarios, incorporating best-practice inputs
  • Coordinate and manage exercise development in conjunction with relevant planners and participants
  • Assist in management of JTIMS and other exercise information management systems
  • Enhance the command's capability to train and prepare for a broad spectrum of threats from real and/or simulated adversaries
  • Coordinate exercise criteria that will test and stress the command's training objectives
  • Consolidate and draft Exercise Summary Reports (ESR) related to exercise objectives, training objectives, and future design modifications
  • CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Familiarity of Joint and Multinational exercise design at the operational level
  • Ability to take an exercise from the concept phase, plan the exercise, and prepare and provide a senior-level concept of operation brief
  • Demonstrated aptitude to apply the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) stages to refine and develop exercise requirements
  • Versed in the application of Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP), Army Design Methodology (ADM), and Joint Planning Process (JPP)
  • Proficient in the management of Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS) and Army Training Information Management System (ARTIMS)
  • Working knowledge of the aspects of Multi-Domain Operations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to convey complex issues in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Must have a current/active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance in the future.
  • Minimum 12+ years relevant experience or 5+ years relevant experience with a Bachelors degree in a related field
  • Valid U.S. Passport or ability to obtain one if needed.


What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Significant experience planning and executing a Component or Joint Exercise Program
  • Experience with exercise planning at the brigadelevel or above
  • Graduate of a Command and General Staff College
  • Previous experience supporting a Department of War or US Army customer
