Job Summary
Wilberforce University is a small, Liberal Arts University with an Entrepreneurial focus, and a legacy of being the nation's first private HBCU. Faculty are expected to fulfill the mission and core values of the university with dedication, compliance with all university and academic area policies, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a commitment to the success of the students and the university. Broad responsibilities include teaching, research, and service to the community. Demonstrate instructional proficiency teaching in various modalities (in-person, virtual, or online).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Primary teaching responsibilities include teaching a broad range of kinesiology courses, including athletic training, anatomy and physiology, biomechanics of human movement, physical therapy, motor control principles and theory, and exercise physiology.
  • Advise and mentor undergraduate Kinesiology majors and minors.
  • Engage in and maintain active scholarly research activities.
  • Serve on departmental and university committees and engage in other forms of service to the university and academic community.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or Physical Education.
  • Candidates with ABDs considered but must have a conferred Ph.D. by December 31, 2025.

Minimum Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with Prior Teaching Experience.
