Job Summary
In this role, you will be a valuable part of our engineering team, ensuring our Research & Development projects are met in a timely fashion while observing the highest standards of safety and quality.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop electrical systems for TICO terminal tractors and trailers.
  • In collaboration with engineering management, develop, maintain, and continuously improve standards, best practices, and ways of working for electrical systems.
  • In collaboration with engineering management, develop scope of work, schedules, task lists, etc. for electrical and controls systems development projects.
  • Lead other electrical engineers through electrical and controls development projects, including checking their work.
  • Lead external resources to complete tasks related to assigned projects.
  • Identify and complete tasks related to customer orders.
  • Work with other departments and suppliers to build and procure components needed for prototype and production builds.
  • In collaboration with prototype department manager, identify proper tools and inventory levels for assembling electrical harnesses.
  • Be willing and prepared to lead engineering team in the absence of the engineering management members.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement activities within the departments.

Required Skills & Abilities
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, Ability to commit to flexible schedule.
  • Must be able to participate in Lean principles and continuous improvement activities.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering.
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years' work-related experience.
  • Experience in vehicle electrical system development.
  • Experience in supporting manufacturing environment.

Working conditions
  • This position primarily operates in an office environment but may also require work in warehouse settings.
  • PPE is required per company procedures and includes safety shoes, safety glasses and safety vest.

Physical requirements
Walking, sitting, standing, crouching, and lifting up to 50lbs.
