SUMMARY:
Reporting to the CEO of Tucson Medical Center, the Cardiology Service Line AVP is a key partner and member of the senior management team. This role is broadly accountable for the success of all aspects of the TMC Health Cardiology Program at all locations in Southern Arizona. The position facilitates and develops highly coordinated, system-level planning and implementation to achieve and maintain a top decile patient experience, well-executed patient care delivery with superior clinical outcomes, and excellent patient access and support. It fosters a multidisciplinary team approach to cardiology disease management across diagnostic, medical, surgical, and all aspects of treatment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible across the full continuum of Cardiac and Vascular indices including cardiac disease, interventional cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology, advanced heart failure, structural heart, endovascular, cardiac surgery, & vascular surgery.
• Accountable for quality, program and service line growth and development, physician relationships and deployment, integration and consistency, clinical strategy to inform operational budgeting and capital allocation, as well as strategic business development for cardiology services across the system.
• Develops network optimization to expand patient access and ensure seamless continuity of cardiology care across inpatient, ambulatory and outpatient centers.
• Establishes market positioning by buildingstrategies to develop and promote the service line as a premier regional cardiac center.
• Works with service line stakeholders, TMC Health leaders, and cardiology medical staff to drive quality and service line development initiatives across the region.
• Experience with clinical research and integration of a robust clinical trials program (up to and including Phase 1 trials) within a cardiology workstream.
• Collaboration with clinical leaders through a team approach to ensure the implementation of the strategic direction for the cardiovascular service line and to drive the execution of primary responsibilities.
• Responsible for maintaining the appropriate alignment with key TMC Health system-wide initiatives and colleagues in the regions/operations units, ensuring that activities within the system, operating unit, and regional strategy are integrated within ambulatory and acute resources.
• Adheres to TMCH organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values, policies, and standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:

• Master's degree in health administration, business, public health, or related field.

EXPERIENCE:

• Seven (7) to ten (10) years of senior-level service line leadership experience, preferably within a complex, high-performing health system.

• None required.

• Demonstrates familiarity with various methods of care delivery and quality improvement concepts.
• Demonstrates progressive management ability in providing administrative direction to innovative programs within the healthcare field. Written and verbal communications skills, as well as effective human resource skills, are essential.
• Demonstrates financial acumen and ability to prepare and review budgets and financial statements.
• Excellent interpersonal and change management skills, as demonstrated by the ability to motivate and work effectively with physician and administrative partners and teams across disciplines.
• Demonstrated success in defining and realizing the highest standards of patient care, using measurement and data-driven improvement efforts, technology, and innovation to strategically move the system of care toward optimization of patient outcomes.
• Provides input and support to specialty committees and leadership to ensure effective governance and positive, engaged physician relationships.
• Monitors compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
• Implements alignment and process strategies to "link" specialist physicians with cardiologists and hospital service lines and/or departments.
• Responsible to engage physicians as leaders and partners in the development, implementation and assessment of comprehensive cardiology practice performance.
• Responsible for the Cardiology Service Line physician relationship. Including ongoing physician feedback on performance, strategy, mediating difficult issues and demonstrating integrity through responsive follow-up and engagement.
• Ability to communicate effectively and timely to physicians, and cardiology leaders the vision, mission, values and objectives of the organization and how this relates to each member of the team.
• Ability to discern and communicate appropriate information to peers and senior leaders and engage in bringing forth recommendations for positive changes to TMC Health overall and within their areas of responsibility.
