Job description

Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Vice President of Roofing Sales to lead and scale our residential re-roof sales operations. The ideal candidate must have overseen a residential re-roof sales organization that consistently sold more than 30 roofs per week (roof-only, not attached to solar). This individual should also have direct, personal experience as a home improvement sales representative, having personally sold over 200 residential re-roofs earlier in their career. They must bring a strong foundation in structured, repeatable in-home selling systems, such as those taught by Rodney Webb, John DeRosa, or similar frameworks.
This leader will build a team of in-home sales consultants and selling technicians who will run company-provided leads, referrals, and self-generated opportunities. The Vice President of Roofing Sales will be responsible for building and managing a high-performing sales organization, and for designing and implementing strategies that maximize referral and self-generated lead volume across all markets.
This position will partner with the sales leaders in our solar division to increase roofing attachment to solar and battery sales, and will also work with those same leaders to increase solar attachment to roofing sales.
This role is based in Wall Township, New Jersey. Onsite is strongly preferred, and relocation assistance will be provided. Hybrid or remote arrangements will be considered for the right candidate. Travel to branches and vendor/industry events is expected.
Key Responsibilities
• Direct Trinity Solar's residential roofing sales channel across multiple markets
• Recruit, train, and retain top-performing sales reps and selling technicians
• Implement and enforce a sales process grounded in proven frameworks (e.g., Rodney Webb or John DeRosa style)
• Manage a team of service technicians who perform small repairs while driving leads for full replacements or rejuvenation work
• Develop and implement comprehensive referral and self-generation strategies, equipping the team with systems, messaging, and accountability structures to increase organic lead volume
• Partner with solar sales leadership to grow both roofing attachment to solar/battery sales and solar attachment to roof sales
• Drive lead-to-close conversion rates through world-class sales training, ride-alongs, and one-on-one coaching
• Establish sales KPIs, compensation plans, and accountability systems across all markets
• Partner with operations leadership to ensure handoff, scope, accuracy, and communication flow are seamless and create an excellent customer experience
• Partner with marketing and phone center departments to create an effective feedback loop that ensures all teams are aligned and performing at their best
• Evaluate market penetration and pricing strategy; develop territory growth plans
• Ensure rigorous CRM usage, reporting, and forecasting discipline
• Collaborate with marketing to drive strong lead generation and nurture campaigns
• Continuously refine training materials, objection handling, and sales scripts to improve team effectiveness
Qualifications
• Must have overseen a residential roofing sales team selling 30+ re-roofs per week (roof-only, not attached to solar)
• Must have personally sold 200+ residential re-roofs as a home improvement sales representative
• Must have a background in structured in-home selling using systems promoted by Rodney Webb, John DeRosa, or equivalent
• Must have led a high-performing, multi-market in-home sales team
• Must have experience managing selling technicians who also perform service repair and lead-gen work
• Deep knowledge of all major residential roofing systems: comp, tile, TPO/flat, etc.
• Strong leadership, sales coaching, and recruiting skills
• Experience designing and executing referral and self-gen strategies
• Proficiency with CRM platforms-Salesforce.com preferred
• Data-driven mindset with experience setting and tracking KPIs
• Experience selling other home improvement products is a big plus
• Existing relationships with lead generation sources (e.g., Modernize, HomeAdvisor, etc.) are a plus
