Additional Position Details: FTE: 0.9 | Full Time | Variable Schedule Nights
Salary is a flat rate of $28.94 per hour
Shift Differentials:
  • $1.67 extra for working between 3:00pm - 11:00pm
  • $3.25 extra for working between 11:00pm - 7:00am
  • $1.49 extra for working weekends
Position Summary
A Polysomnographic (PSG) Technologist Trainee develops competency in and performs the basics of polysomnographic testing and associated interventions under direct supervision of an OHA approved supervisor, or under indirect supervision by an OHA approved supervisor.
As a PSG Tech Trainee, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Perform appropriate duties as assigned, utilizing policies, procedures, protocols, and orders.
  • Demonstrate patient care excellence in practice through self-directed behavior using critical thinking.
  • Participate in education and Performance Improvement activities to provide a quality service and keep current with industry changes and improve knowledge.
  • Support a teamwork environment, working cooperatively with internal and external customers.
Why Asante Sleep Center?
The Asante Sleep Center in Medford is a 10-bed lab and has been continuously accredited for 30 years with the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Our sister lab located in Grants Pass is a 4-bed lab and has been accredited for 1-year. Our team of consists of Registered PSG Night Techs, Registered PSG Score Techs, Registered and credentialed Clinical Sleep Educators, a Registered Insomnia Education Coordinator, a Registered Education Coordinator, a Registered Clinical Manager, and office support staff. Physician and mid-level providers from Asante Physician Partners (APP) Pulmonary work closely with the Sleep Center staff. We meet six times per year to conduct a sleep case review meeting where ideas are shared and heard. We value the team approach where everyone has a voice and we collaborate with other specialty groups to provide coordinated care for our sleep patients.

What You Must Have
This role provides two different pathways to qualify - through clinical experience or as a program graduate. Details on the requirements for each pathway are noted below.
For the Clinical Experience Pathway:
  • BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified by American Heart Association (AHA) required upon start.
  • Successful completion of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine A-Step program within 60 days of hire.
  • Polysomnographic Technologist Temporary - DS licensed by the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) within 30 days of ASTEP completion date, followed by Polysomnographic Technologist - IS licensed by the Oregon Health Authority 3 months after DS licensing date.
  • Expectation to complete clinical hour requirement and BRPT (Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) exam within 18 months of hire.
For the CAAHEP/CoARC Program Graduate Pathway:
  • BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified by American Heart Association (AHA) required upon start.
  • Successful completion of a CAAHEP or CoARC-accredited polysomnography education program.
  • Polysomnographic Technologist - IS licensed by the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) within 30 days of hire. Expectation to complete BRPT (Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) exam within 4 months of hire.
