TEL Staffing is hiring Helicopter Pilots for an employee-owned company, based out of Salem, VA, for both spray and utility operations. This company conducts a variety of operations ranging from forestry spraying to Firefighting/Charters. Ideal candidates range from newly certified commercial pilots to experienced longline/utility pilots. We offer both Contract (Experienced Pilots) and full-time year-round employment. Our aircraft consist of the Bell 205, 206B/L, 407 and Hiller UH-12ET (Soloy)

REQUIREMENTS UPON HIRING:

Low level experience for this company would be 300 feet or less of the closest obstacle

Primary responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Managing ground crews while performing all the duties and responsibilities of a helicopter Pilot in Command.
  • Typically interfaces with the customer during spray, fire, and utility operations.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times and have the highest regard for flight and operational safety.
  • Administrative duties associated with the aircraft and flights.

  • Performing pre and post flight inspections of fuel, equipment, and navigational systems.
  • Monitoring weather conditions and communicating with air traffic control during flights.
  • Must be able to exercise good judgement in a team environment as well as in aircraft operation and safety.
  • Determining the safest routes and analyzing flight plans prior to takeoff.
  • Must have problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Must be willing to work in an environment that is subject to changing climate conditions and moderate noise levels and move items of 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
  • Active, valid Driver's License required.
  • High school diploma, or GED required.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and FAA. regulated drug/alcohol tests prior to start. Will be enrolled in our random drug pool.
