What is the difference between Executive Risk Management vs Risk Analyst?
| Aspect | Executive Risk Management | Risk Analyst |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials | Certifications like CRM, ARM, or CPCU often preferred | Similar certifications may be beneficial but less common |
| Work Environment | Strategic, executive-level decision-making, often in corporate offices | Data analysis, risk assessment, and reporting, typically in office settings |
| Employer & Industry | Large corporations, insurance firms, financial institutions | Insurance companies, consulting firms, financial services |
Executive Risk Management focuses on high-level risk strategies and decision-making for organizations, while Risk Analysts primarily analyze data to identify and assess risks. Both roles require relevant certifications and are integral to risk mitigation but differ in scope and responsibilities.

You will lead end-to-end People Risk engagements—from shaping the approach to delivering high-quality outcomes—while balancing client service excellence, quality, and risk management. You will communicate complex information clearly and effectively through well-crafted deliverables and by facilitating executive-level discussions and working sessions, while contributing to the growth of both your own capabilities and the People Risk practice.
Some examples of day-to-day activities include:
- Serving as a trusted advisor to clients on People Risk priorities, supporting informed and responsible decision-making
- Leading engagement teams and contributing to the development of team members in an inclusive and supportive environment
- Conducting current-state assessments of strategy, governance, policies, processes, and controls related to people risk, and tailoring approaches to the client context
- Identifying, prioritizing, and communicating key insights and recommendations, and supporting clients through implementation planning

- Designing and facilitating workshops and training sessions that support adoption and behaviour change
- Leading qualitative research (e.g., interviews, focus groups) to understand lived experiences and emerging risks, and synthesizing insights into clear, evidence-based findings
- Supporting account and pursuit activities, including identifying opportunities, shaping proposals, and contributing to resourcing decisions
- Contributing to the growth of the People Risk offering through the development of client-ready materials, insights, and market-facing content
- Championing innovation, including the responsible use of AI

Our People Risk offering supports clients in identifying, managing, and mitigating these risks in practical and sustainable ways.
We work across a range of interconnected areas, including:

- Pay equity and transparency
- Accessibility
- Equity-centered customer experience design
- Ethics, culture, and conduct risk
- Human rights
- Psychological health and safety
- Workplace harassment and violence prevention

- prevention, psychological health and safety, talent and workforce risk, social impact etc.), with the ability to apply this knowledge in different contexts
- You have experience leading complex projects, managing workplans and budgets, and supporting teams to deliver high-quality outcomes
- You are an inclusive people leader who values coaching, development, and building collaborative, high-performing teams
- You bring a consulting mindset, including structured problem-solving, clear and effective communication, and the ability to manage risk, scope, and timelines
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in consulting or a related field (e.g., human resources, DEIA, risk management), with demonstrated depth in relevant People Risk areas
- Experience leading client engagements and contributing to business development, including supporting pursuits, building relationships, or shaping proposals
- Ability to deliver strong client service by working collaboratively and supporting consistent, high-quality outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet commitments
- Ability to build trusted relationships and positively influence clients and teams
- Interest in people risks, including staying current with evolving practices, regulations, and client needs
- Ability to align work to broader organizational governance and risk management considerations and client priorities
- Relevant professional designations (e.g., risk, audit, HR, DEI, accessibility) are an asset, along with a commitment to continuous learning
- We value diverse perspectives and experiences, and encourage applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences
