Senior SAP FICO Functional Lead (ECC)

Location: Greenwich, CT (Hybrid Preferred | Remote Considered)

Duration: 6–12 Month Contract with Potential for Full-Time Conversion

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a seasoned SAP FICO Functional Lead to support a large enterprise ECC environment. This is a highly visible role that requires a unique combination of strong functional expertise, executive presence, and exceptional stakeholder management skills.

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to business and IT leadership, partnering with cross-functional teams to drive finance-related initiatives, improve business processes, and deliver high-quality SAP solutions. This position requires someone who is equally comfortable discussing business strategy with executives as they are defining functional requirements with technical teams.


Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary SAP FICO functional lead supporting Finance and Accounting business processes.
  • Partner with executive leadership, business stakeholders, and IT teams to understand strategic objectives and translate them into SAP solutions.
  • Lead business process discussions, requirements gathering sessions, and solution design workshops.
  • Provide functional expertise across SAP ECC Finance (FI) and Controlling (CO).
  • Analyze business requirements and recommend scalable, best-practice SAP solutions.
  • Work closely with technical teams to ensure successful configuration, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives involving Finance and other business areas.
  • Drive issue resolution, facilitate decision-making, and build consensus among diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Support production enhancements, process improvements, and ongoing optimization initiatives.
  • Provide leadership throughout project delivery while maintaining strong relationships across business and IT organizations.

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of hands-on SAP FICO functional consulting experience.
  • Strong experience supporting SAP ECC Finance and Controlling modules.
  • Deep understanding of core Finance business processes, including:
    • General Ledger
    • Accounts Payable
    • Accounts Receivable
    • Fixed Assets
    • Cost Center Accounting
    • Profit Center Accounting
    • Internal Orders
    • Financial Reporting
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with executive leadership and senior business stakeholders.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to influence decision-making across multiple business organizations.
  • Strong business analysis and requirements gathering experience.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in complex enterprise environments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience integrating Finance with MM, SD, or other SAP modules.
  • Background supporting enterprise implementations, enhancements, or process improvement initiatives.
  • PMP, SAP certification, or equivalent experience is a plus.

Work Arrangement
  • Hybrid work arrangement preferred with occasional onsite meetings in the Greenwich, CT area.
  • Highly qualified remote candidates located within the United States will also be considered.
  • Candidates should be available to support Eastern Time business hours.
