The National Sales Executive is responsible for identifying new business opportunities and nurturing existing relationships. This position is responsible for the full sales life cycle: prospecting, communicating, cultivating, quoting, operating, and enhancing partnerships within assigned accounts.


Key Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions

  • Prospecting & Sales: Actively listen to understand customers' needs and requirements to deliver positive freight solutions. Conduct cold calls, emails, and consistent outreach to generate new business.
  • Customer Management: Oversee daily freight operations to ensure customer excellence. Convey our value proposition, positioning self as a trusted resource to solve their unique challenges.
  • Quoting & Contracts: Provide accurate freight quotes within target regions while maintaining profitability and compliance.
  • Technology: Utilize TMS, CRM, and company resources to track shipments and maintain accurate records compliant with company standard operating procedures.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work cross-functionally with carrier sales, marketing, and operations to drive results. Proactively overcommunicate with customers to fulfill commitments, exceed service expectations, and investigate and facilitate the resolution of customer problems with shipment/deliveries.
  • Results: Achieve and exceed monthly sales margin and revenue expectations and ensure customer service levels and performance indicators are met.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Familiar with Microsoft Suites (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Previous B2B sales experience, 5+ years.
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field, preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Must be able to perform primary continuous work duties in a stationary/sedentary position.
  • Physical effort/lifting may require up to 20 pounds.
  • Essential physical requirements include accessing and moving around the inside of the onsite office and remote work environments.
  • Frequently communicate information and convey ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information and express oneself in these situations.
  • Ability to observe and identify details at close range (within a couple of feet of the observer).
  • Cognitive skills needed to complete tasks (e.g., learning, problem-solving, comprehending).
  • Light to moderate noise levels (i.e., business offices with computers, phone, printers, light traffic).
  • Regular, predictable attendance.
