About the Opportunity


A highly regarded senior living community is looking to identify an experienced Executive Chef to lead its culinary program in Boise, Idaho. This is an excellent opportunity for a culinary leader who brings a fine dining mindset to resident-focused hospitality and understands the importance of delivering exceptional food while accommodating varied dietary and nutritional needs.

Partnering closely with the Director of Dining Services, the Executive Chef will lead culinary production, kitchen operations, menu execution, food quality, sanitation, inventory, and team development. The ideal candidate combines strong culinary standards with high-volume production experience and the ability to create an elevated dining experience within a senior living, healthcare, or similar hospitality environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily culinary production and kitchen operations while maintaining exceptional standards for quality, taste, presentation, and consistency
  • Oversee preparation and execution of approved menus, recipes, portion standards, and specialized resident dietary needs
  • Recruit, train, schedule, coach, and develop culinary and kitchen team members
  • Provide hands-on culinary leadership during meal periods, special events, and high-volume production
  • Plan and organize daily production, kitchen workflow, recipe scaling, preparation timelines, and future menu needs
  • Partner with the Director of Dining Services on purchasing, inventory control, labor planning, budgets, and culinary standards
  • Maintain rigorous food safety, sanitation, HACCP, storage, and temperature-control standards
  • Collaborate with dining room leadership to ensure seamless service, presentation, and resident satisfaction
  • Support catering, special events, and other culinary programming
  • Drive continuous improvement through resident feedback, team development, and disciplined culinary execution


Ideal Experience

  • 3–5+ years of progressive culinary management experience
  • Experience in senior living, a Life Plan Community, continuing care, healthcare dining, or a similar environment strongly preferred
  • High-volume production and catering experience
  • Strong understanding of varied dietary, nutritional, and service needs
  • Proven ability to lead, train, coach, and develop culinary teams
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, HACCP principles, and commercial kitchen operations
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification, Food Handler certification, or ability to obtain required certifications
  • Fine dining mindset with a passion for quality, presentation, hospitality, and resident satisfaction
