What is executive protection?

Executive protection is a specialized security service focused on safeguarding high-profile individuals, such as corporate executives, celebrities, or political figures, from potential threats like physical harm, kidnapping, or harassment. This service often includes risk assessments, travel security, secure transportation, and advance planning to ensure a client's safety at all times. Executive protection professionals are trained in security protocols, defensive driving, emergency response, and sometimes medical aid, allowing them to respond effectively to a variety of situations. The goal is to allow clients to carry out their daily activities with minimal disruption while maintaining the highest level of safety.

What is executive protection?

Executive protection involves providing security for corporate executives, VIPs, celebrities, and other people who need safeguarding against public threats. Increasingly, these threats are both physical and digital, and many executives require increased protection from hackers who try to steal personal information for blackmail or to expose executives and celebrities in the media. Your duties as an executive protection specialist can include performing risk assessment, testing security systems, determining which executive or persons of interest are at higher risk, and developing methods to keep them safe.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an executive protection professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Executive Protection professional, you need expertise in risk assessment, security protocols, defensive tactics, and often a background in law enforcement or military service. Familiarity with surveillance technology, secure communications systems, and certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) are commonly required. Discretion, situational awareness, quick decision-making, and strong interpersonal skills are essential soft skills for building trust and responding effectively to threats. These skills and qualities are critical for ensuring the safety, privacy, and confidence of high-profile clients in unpredictable environments.

What are some common challenges faced by executive protection professionals, and how can they be addressed?

Executive Protection professionals often encounter challenges such as adapting to rapidly changing schedules, managing high-stress environments, and maintaining vigilance during extended periods. They must remain discreet while ensuring the safety of their principal, which requires excellent communication and quick decision-making. Building strong coordination with local law enforcement and other security team members is essential to address these challenges effectively and ensure seamless operations.

Job description

About Bridger Photonics, Inc.
Bridger Photonics, Inc. creates and deploys innovative LiDAR sensors for the Oil & Gas and Industrial Manufacturing industries. Our airborne LiDAR sensors are transforming the way the Oil & Gas industry discovers and manages natural gas (methane) leaks. This opportunity is resulting in significant and rapid growth for our company.
As we scale toward a global footprint, our executive team's time is one of the company's scarcest resources. This role protects it.
About the role
We are seeking an Executive Assistant to support our Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Technology Officer. The role reports to the Manager, Executive Operations and is based on site in Bozeman, Montana.
You will own calendars, travel, expenses, meeting logistics, and materials production for all three executives. You will also plan and execute company events and culture programming, including team gatherings, recognition programs, and on-site customer visits.
What you'll do
  • Manage complex, frequently changing calendars for the CEO, CFO, and CTO
  • Coordinate domestic and international travel end to end - flights, ground transportation, lodging, conference registration, itineraries, and rebooking when plans change
  • Run meeting logistics: scheduling, rooms, video conferencing, catering, and distribution of materials
  • Produce and format meeting materials, including decks, agendas, and pre-reads
  • Plan and execute company events and culture programming from budget and venue through day-of execution, as well as manage event vendors, contracts, catering, and run-of-show
  • Process expense reports and corporate card reconciliation for all three executives
  • Proofread and format executive correspondence and presentations; draft routine communications
  • Serve as the scheduling and logistics point of contact for employees, customers, investors, board members, and partners requesting executive time
  • Handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ready meeting spaces and host visitors on site
  • Anticipate needs, identify potential issues before they arise, and proactively develop solutions

Qualifications
  • 3-5 years supporting senior leaders in an executive assistant, administrative, or coordination role, including direct exposure to C-suite executives
  • Demonstrated ability to support more than one executive at a time and make sound calls about competing demands
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication; professional presence with board members, investors, and customers
  • Proven discretion and mature judgment handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Experience planning and executing events or company gatherings, including vendor and budget management
  • High proficiency with Microsoft 365, calendaring, video conferencing, and collaboration platforms such as Slack or Teams
  • Self-motivated and effective in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift
  • Service-oriented and low-ego; takes pride in making other people effective
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent demonstrated experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience at a growth-stage technology, energy, or scientific company
  • Experience coordinating complex international travel
  • Familiarity with travel and expense platforms (Concur, Expensify, Navan, Ramp, or similar)
  • Event planning at company scale (50+ attendees), including multi-day or off-site programs
  • Comfort using AI tools for drafting, summarizing, and research

Additional Information
  • Bridger Photonics, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
  • United States Employment Eligibility: Bridger does not offer visa sponsorships. If you are hired, you will be required to fill out the US Department of Homeland Security's I-9 form confirming you are able to work in the US.
