Job description

At Balfour Beatty Construction in Orange County, California we are seeking a Project Executive to focus on various market sectors (including corporate interiors, retail, adaptive reuse, light industrial, etc.) within Orange County and LA markets. The primary role of the Project Executive is to be the pursuit and project leader ultimately responsible for all aspects of the project’s success including a positive referral from the Clients. The Project Executive ensures project success through monitoring the processes, progress and results of the following: Client satisfaction, team effectiveness, employee development, financial goals, quality and schedule. Serving as the liaison between the jobsite, the Business Unit Leader (BUL) and the main office, the Project Executive provides the support and resources that are needed by the Project Manager and Superintendent to perform their duties.

Essential Functions
  • Identify projects to pursue.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships in the industry.
  • Participate in development, execution and presentations of proposals.
  • Manage preconstruction efforts through RFP process
  • Oversee the buy-out of the project.
  • Monitor budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Review and approve deliverables.
  • Manage risk in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Evaluate monthly project financial performance.
  • Manage the strategic account process.
  • Oversee the development of the initial project schedule.
  • Supervise the process of project start-up.
  • Encourage employee growth by mentoring and managing development plans.
  • Inform Business Unit Leader (BUL) overseeing project of issues and status.
  • Assure that Company policies and procedures are implemented on the project.
  • Monitor enforcement of project safety policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the finalization of any outstanding issues with Owner, Subcontractors, and Vendors at project closeout.
  • Bachelor of Science degree required.
  • 10 years or more of commercial construction experience in project management.
  • Extensive private sector experience
  • 8 years or more of direct supervisory experience.
  • Experience in leading pursuits
  • Existing relationships with architects, brokerage firms, construction managers
  • Experience with project manager software (Constructware, P6, etc.)
  • Experience with cost projection, financialanalysis, budget reviews, labor reports
  • Experience with JD Edwards or similar construction application(s)

The base compensation range for the role of Project Executivein S CA posted above is $190,000 to $220,000 annually.

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
